Episode 1.1

The episode opens with Rosa Mia singing on stage at a night club as Emilio stands by in his security guard uniform, watching and admiring her performance.

She is backstage after her performance, and he goes to see her and they hug. He asks how she is, and we learn that she is pregnant.

Another co-worker comes by and tells them that the owner of the nightclub is looking for her.

She tells Rosa Mia to remove her wedding ring, hinting that the owner of the club will be furious if he finds out that she's married and pregnant, but Rosa Mia refuses.

Later, the couple are at church, and Rosa Mia is praying long and earnestly, so much so that Emilio teases her about her long prayers. She suggests that he pass the time by going to buy some sampaguita.

As Emilio walks back down the church's main aisle, he is fishing for coins in his pockets, and not paying attention to where he is going. He bumps into a flower vendor just as she is walking into the church. He apologizes for not watching where he's going and the two part ways.

The scene changes to a bright morning as Emilio carries fresh water back to the humble home of the Suarez family. At home, a very pregnant Rosa Mia greets him and tells him she's worried that they do not have enough money as her due date approaches. Emilio suggests that they approach their boss and borrow money. Rosa Mia does not like the idea; she is worried because they have hidden their marriage and pregnancy from him.

True enough, their boss is furious when he learns the truth about their marriage and Rosa Mia's pregnancy, and he fires them both.

Back home, night has fallen, Rosa Mia is alone at home as the rain pours through leaks in their roof. Without warning, Rosa Mia goes into labor and goes to her neighbor, trying to find someone to help her. She finally collapses on the street just as Emilio is on his way home, and he finds her. They are unable to get to the hospital in time, and Rosa Mia safely gives birth to their baby girl along the banks of the river with the assistance of two neighbors.

The two new parents are tired but happy as they both gaze lovingly at their daughter.

Later, they are at the hospital, and the doctor advises them that their baby needs to stay in the hospital's incubator for a few days more, but they don't need to worry because her condition is stable.

When the doctor leaves, Rosa Mia worriedly asks Emilio how they can hope to pay the hospital bills. Emilio reassures her that all will be well, and Rosa Mia says she'll go back to work as soon as possible to start earning money. Emilio promises her that their daughter will grow up well and peaceful and happy. He also reveals that he has chosen a name for their daughter, Emilia Rose.

In the montage that follows, we see that after giving birth, Rosa Mia continues to perform in nightclubs and Emilio resumes work as a security guard at yet another nightclub. The two of them are loving and happy parents to their baby girl.

One night, as Rosa Mia's set ends, she hears her baby crying backstage and she rushes to see the baby. We learn that the baby has weak lungs, as Rosa Mia's co-worker asks why they are bringing the baby to work where so many people are smoking. Rosa Mia says they have nowhere to leave the baby since they both have to work.

Later, the family is home and Emilio reveals that he's found a neighbor who is willing to take care of their baby while they are at work. Emilio then learns that Rosa Mia has been offered a one-month singing stint in Cebu for P20,000. He is impressed by the promised income, but Rosa Mia says she turned it down because it would mean she'd have to be away from the family.

It is night again and Emilio is at work at the club when he is asked by his boss to deliver a package to a Mr. Rupert at a specified address. The boss even gives him more than enough money to pay for the transportation expense to deliver the package. Emilio is grateful.

Meanwhile, Rosa Mia is picking up their daughter from a baby sitter only to find that the baby is running a fever. A visit to the doctor shows that her weak lungs are making it easy for the baby to get sick. Emilio says it's a good thing the boss had just given him extra money because they can buy medicine.

Later, Emilio and the baby are at church with Rosa Mia, and once again she is praying long and earnestly. They agree that Emilio can leave the church ahead of Rosa Mia, and as he is walking out of the church distracted by his baby and his baby bag, he almost bumps into the flower vendor, who introduces herself as "Doris".

Doris admires the beautiful baby, saying she looks like an angel. The two exchange pleasantries, just as Rosa Mia finishes her prayers. Rosa Mia leaves the church just as Doris enters, and the two women walk past each other without meeting.

It's night again, and Rosa Mia is picking up her baby from the babysitter, only to find that the baby and her baby sitter are both missing.

Emilio arrives to find Rosa Mia distraught at the babysitter's. They are frantic and have called the police to report a kidnapping, just as the babysitter returns home with the baby. She is confused to find the police there. The babysitter is upset to be accused of kidnapping the baby and she refuses to babysit for them anymore.

Back home, Rosa Mia continues to worry about the future, saying they won't be able to manage if their baby gets sick again. We learn that she has finally decided to accept the job in Cebu.

The couple have a bittersweet moment saying goodbye to each other, and as Rosa Mia says her goodbyes to baby Emilia Rose. Rosa Mia asks Emilio to take good care of their baby girl and they sadly part ways as she leaves for her job in Cebu.

Emilio is at work and carrying his baby while performing his security guard duties. His boss arrives at the nightclub entrance, and Emilio asks a co-worker to hold on to the baby for a few minutes.

His boss greets him and gives him another package to deliver. He also gives Emilio extra cash.

We see Doris outside Club 100 with fellow flower vendors, and learn that her name is actually Adora. She asks her friends to call her Doris because she thinks no one would buy flowers from "Adora".

It turns out that Emilio must deliver his package at the same club. When he arrives at the entrance, Emilio and Adora recognize each other and chat briefly.

Emilio then tries to deliver his package but the guard of Club 100 stops him and says he can't enter the nightclub with a baby.

Left with no choice, Emilio asks Adora to watch the baby for a few minutes as he delivers his package. She reluctantly agrees.

Emilio goes into the club to deliver the package and it turns out that the package contains drugs, and he has walked into a drug sting operation.

He is arrested and led out the back door, and an unsuspecting Adora does not see as Emilio is driven away by the police.

As Emilio is thrown into jail, Adora is still waiting outside. She talks the security guard into checking the inside of the club for Emilio, but he doesn't find the missing father. At the jail, the police ignore Emilio's protests and leave him locked up. Doris tries to leave the baby with the security guard of Club 100, but he refuses. Left with no choice, she brings the baby home with her.

At the home of Adora, we see her giving the baby some milk. We learn that Adora lives with her sister, that she has no children, had had a miscarriage, a hysterectomy, and that she is no longer with her husband.

As Adora cares for the baby, her sister suggests that Adora keep the baby -- that perhaps this is the answer to Adora's longstanding wish to have a child. Adora resists the idea, saying she hopes that if the baby were her daughter, the person who has the baby would return her child to her.

The next day, Adora returns to the club with the baby only to find it closed. She learns that the club had been raided the night before.

She goes to the police station to ask if they had arrested a man named Emilio. The policeman tells her that they DID arrest an Emilio Suarez, who is a big-time drug dealer. She learns he has been transferred to Camp Crame.

Rosa Mia has returned from Cebu, and is furious with Emilio when she learns that their daughter is with a woman that they do not know, whom they cannot find. When she blames him for losing their daughter, he becomes upset and blames her for leaving them. She does not quite know whether or not to believe him when he claims he is innocent of the drug-trafficking charges. Her trust in him has been destroyed by the loss of their daughter.

He pleads with her to believe him when he says he loves their daughter and that he has not been an irresponsible father, but Rosa Mia leaves him.

Rosa Mia is outside Club 100, staring at the Closed sign. She cries inconsolably. As she walks along the river bank, she sees a couple with a baby and approaches them, hoping they may have her daughter, but it is not Emilia Rose.

In jail, Emilio sits in his cell alone crying, asking for Rosa Mia's forgiveness.

Rose Mia is distraught as she leaves the church. She sits down on the church steps and breaks into tears, just as Adora walks past her to enter the church, carrying baby Emilia Rose. The two women do not even see each other.

Adora sits in the church praying with the baby, saying she wants to do the right thing and return the baby, but she cannot bring herself to return an "angel" to a drug dealer. She asks God for a sign as to what to do -- whether to keep the baby or return her to a father who does not deserve her.

Just then, the church bells start to ring as the baby wets her diapers, and Adora interprets this to be the sign that she has asked for. She decides to keep the baby, and gives her the name Adorina.

As the episode comes to a close, the scene switches alternately between Rosa Mia, who is crying on the riverbanks; to Emilio, who is sitting behind bars in jail weeping; and to Adora, who is sitting in church, smiling into the face of the baby in her arms.
