Episode 13.3

Oman asks for directions from a passing student while at school. She tells him that she's headed to the building he needs to go to, and offers to show him the way.

Dorina, Jack, and Gary are sitting around waiting for Jay and Chris to arrive for rehearsals. When they finally arrive, Gary wants to know where they've been. When Jay and Chris evade the question, Gary tells them their behavior is suspicious. Jay and Gary almost come to blows as they exchange words. Jack and Dorina stop them and everyone agrees to focus instead on rehearsing.

Lavinia is at the LaCalma office going over new posters and publicity material with Libby when Larry comes and says that Dorina's concert date has already been set. Lavinia says she wants to move her concert date to match Dorina's. Larry doesn't think it's a good idea. Instead, he suggests that they set her concert for the day before. Lavinia is offended that Larry thinks she won't be any match for Dorina. In a fit of anger, she tells him he should start looking for another talent because she quits.

Adora and Dorina are in church praying. Dorina is thankful for everything wonderful in her life, but most especially for her family. She is particularly thankful to have Adora as her mother. Adora in her prayers tells God she would give up everything just to live longer so she can be with her two daughters.

Lavinia comes home to a dark and empty house. She flips on the living room lights and stands in the large foyer, feeling utterly alone. It's not surprising when she starts crying.

Later, Lavinia sits at a table alone, drinking liquor while staring at a photo of herself with Barbara and Rita. She angrily throws the photo frame on the floor, shattering the glass.

As Dorina and Adora leave the church, they find Oman selling rags hoping to make some money to spend at school the next day. He tells them that he was nervous at his first day of school, but that he had fun and even participated during recitation. He says he met a lot of friends, including one girl named Kylie, with whom he felt an immediate bond. He says it was almost like they've been friends for a long time. Dorina smiles while listening to Oman's stories, but there's some hint of her feeling uneasy about Oman's new friendship.

Oman goes on to say that a lot of people have a crush on Kylie since she's so pretty. Dorina says nothing. Adora invites Oman to join her and Dorina since they're going to get something to eat. Oman takes a rain check, saying he needs to finish selling his rags, and he'd like to turn in early so he looks fresh during his study group the next day, since Kylie will be there.

The next day, Lavinia calls Nico on his cellphone. He asks her what's wrong and if she's crying and she tells him that she has left La Calma. When Nico asks why, she tearfully reveals that Larry is in love with her, and after what Larry did, she couldn't stay with La Calma anymore.

Nico is concerned and asks her to tell him what Larry did. Lavinia doesn't tell him, despite Nico's repeated questions. She finally apologizes for bothering him, and says she just wanted someone to talk to, then hangs up. Nico tries to call her back but she doesn't answer the call. As she looks at her ringing phone, Lavinia wipes away her tears and smiles. Back at his office, Nico looks worried.

It's breakfast at the Pineda household. Adora tells Dorina that she and Minda will be visiting their former boss Mama Rosa, and that it's just a social get-together. She says she'll bring Bencho to school first.

After Adora and Bencho leave, Dorina asks Emilio if he already has Lavinia's address. Emilio says yes and asks if she intends to send Lavinia flowers. Dorina says she intends to visit.

Rita comes out of her bedroom at the new condo where she and Barbara are staying. She is puzzled because she can hear someone delivering a bad rendition of "Miss Na Miss Kita." In the living room, she finds Barbara with a stranger, whom Barbara introduces as Whitney Snow, the niece of her former boss and singer Pepita Snow. Barbara excitedly tells Rita that Whitney is her new talent. She talks about her plans to use the name Snow White as Whitney's stage name, which will be perfect after Whitney goes through some whitening treatments.

Rita pulls Barbara aside and asks if she really thinks Whitney is good enough for Barbara to pin her hopes on, especially since she's not a good singer. Rita suggests that she look for someone else. Barbara says she's actually been thinking of getting someone else to develop -- Rita! When she asks Rita if she's interested, Rita advises her to focus on Whitney.

Nico tells Zossimo that Lavinia called him to say she has quit La Calma. When Zossimo asks why, Nico says he doesn't know, but that he's worried because Larry is in love with Lavinia, and Lavinia wouldn't just resign unless Larry has done something terrible.

Zossimo tells him to relax, that they can't just go and accuse Larry when they know so little. Nico tells him he should have heard Lavinia on the phone. Zossimo says he understands, but he reminds Nico that Lavinia is a very good liar. For all they know, this is just a plan that she and Larry have cooked up. Nico concedes that it's possible, but he's still worried.

Zossimo says it's only natural that he's worried since Nico has feelings for her. When Nico denies this, Zossimo says he meant to say that Nico and Lavinia were once a couple, so it's only natural that Nico is worried. He advises Nico to stay out of any issues that may exist between Larry and Lavinia. After all, Dorina is the one who's a Zoni talent, so they should focus on her. Nico agrees, and asks Zossimo where Dorina is.

Lavinia opens the doors of her home to find Dorina standing there. Lavinia demands to know what Dorina is doing. Dorina says she would like to speak to Lavinia and make amends. Dorina assures her that she came alone, with no camera and no press.

Dorina apologizes and asks for forgiveness for what she did at the restaurant. She says she's not used to having enemies and she doesn't want things to go on like this. She tells Lavinia that they share the same goal, to be a singer and to entertain. She says it's not necessary that they fight like this. Tearfully, Dorina says that everything she has achieved in her own career was possible because Lavinia was and still is her inspiration. Dorina hands Lavinia sampaguita leis and asks once again that they bury the hatchet.

Dorina and Minda are at another doctor's office, and learn that Adora really has lymphoma. The doctor tells them that the cancer is not spreading very quickly and that treatment options are available, such as chemotherapy or gamma radiation therapy. When Adora asks if there's still hope for her, the doctor says there's always hope.

Lavinia throws the flowers at Dorina's face, then slaps her. She calls Dorina a hypocrite and says she has no plans to befriend Dorina. Lavinia pushes Dorina away, ordering her to leave. Emilio comes up from behind Dorina and holds her. Disappointed and crying, Dorina tells Lavinia she thought there was still some goodness left in Lavinia but she was wrong. Lavinia tells her she's right, that there's nothing left in her heart anymore because Dorina has stolen everything. When she orders them again to leave, Emilio pulls Dorina away and leads her to the van. Still crying, Dorina turns for one last look at Lavinia before getting into the van.

Dorina and Emilio are standing along the coastline, and Dorina is berating herself for her stupidity. She says she's such a poor judge of character. Emilio tells her that he's just as bad a judge of character as she is, and that his lack of judgment was often a source of argument between himself and Rosamia.

Emilio says that they'll both be hurt over and over because of their belief in the innate goodness of people, but that it's not bad. He says he actually admires her for her courage in going to face Lavinia on her own, to make amends. He says he hopes his daughter would grow up to be just like her. He tells her he's very proud of her. Dorina thanks him for cheering her up and making her feel better. He says it's nothing, and assures her that he'd do anything for her, even risk his own life.

Dorina thanks him again, and says she's glad there aren't that many people there, because she wouldn't want to be seen like this. She looks around and tells him that this is a nice place. Emilio reveals that he often comes here whenever he's troubled, and that he and Rosamia brought their daughter out here all those years ago, so it's a place that's special to him and to Rosamia. He tells her again to cheer up and not be sad anymore.

Adora is crying and telling Minda that she doesn't want to die, because no one will take care of Bencho and Dorina. Minda reminds her that the doctor says there are treatments. Adora tries to psych herself into believing that she'll be alright, after all, she has beaten cancer before. But before long, she is crying again and admitting that she's worried. Minda can only try to comfort her.

At Nico's office, Dorina is seated at one of the couches while Emilio quietly tells Nico that Lavinia had slapped Dorina. After Emilio leaves, Nico sits on one of the couches, checks Dorina's face, and asks her if she's alright. Dorina assures him that she's okay, and tells him not to worry. Nico says it's a good thing he had not been there with her, because God only knows what he would have done to Lavinia. Dorina tells him it's her own fault anyway, because she didn't listen to Nico.

Nico tells her she was only hoping that there was still some goodness left in Lavinia, in the same way he himself was hoping. He says they both still haven't learned their lesson. But he says he won't let this happen again, either to Dorina or to himself.

Dorina tells him that she doesn't want any more trouble, despite what Lavinia did today. Nico agrees. He says that from that moment on, they will no longer worry about Lavinia and Larry. They will no longer react to whatever they do or say. They will just mind their own business.
