Episode 14.2

Barbara is upset and ranting to Rita at home about Lavinia's behavior, promising to give her wayward daughter World War III.

Rita asks Barbara about her new talent, Snow White. Barbara says no one is interested in getting her, but that's not going to stop her from wrecking Lavinia's career. After all, Barbara knows all of Lavinia's darkest secrets. She orders Rita to call the Executive Producer of The Buzz and let them know that Barbara wants to be interviewed. Rita looks worried.

Reporters crowd around Lavinia and Larry after the press club luncheon and ask her for a comment about the alleged relationship between Dorina and Nico. Lavinia says she has nothing to do with them and asks why they are asking her for a comment. A reporter responds that she's Nico's ex-girlfriend, and Dorina is now Lavinia's rival.

Lavinia smiles and says that both Dorina and Nico are her fans. They deserve each other -- fan to fan. Lavinia leaves before they can ask more questions.

At Nico's office, Dorina finally sees the tabloids and realizes that people think she and Nico have a relationship. She tells Nico they shouldn't have gone to the press luncheon. Nico says he brought her there to promote her album, and if people have other thoughts, that's really the way things are. Dorina says people have the wrong idea. Nico says that's what intrigues are like. If you comment about it, the situation will only get worse. Besides, they're both single so no one is getting hurt.

Dorina says she can't understand why people would think there's something going on between them. Why her of all people? Nico laughs and tells her she's kind and talented. Of course guys will fall in love with her, she's beautiful inside and out. Dorina doesn't quite know how to respond and looks away.

Back in Larry's office, Larry asks Lavinia why she's so furious. She says she asked Oscar to print that article to embarrass Nico and Dorina. But instead, Nico seemed pleased. She says her plan backfired. Larry asks if that's the real reason she's upset. He asks if she's jealous of Nico and Dorina, after all, she loves Nico. Lavinia corrects him, saying she loved Nico, he was her first love so it's not that easy to forget. But she says that it's all in the past, and Larry is her present and future.

Larry asks her outright if she loves him. Lavinia says she'll eventually learn to love him. But that for now, she's content to be his girlfriend. Larry is surprised to hear her say that. Lavinia asks -- isn't that what you told Nico at the gym? She tells him she's fine with being his girlfriend. And that as soon as he does what she asks, as soon as he fulfills his promises to her, she'll be his wife. Larry is appeased and thanks her.

Jay finds Chris in the studio hallways and says Libby called. They'll be part of Lavinia's concert. Jay speculates that they'll be her front act. This is where they'll be launched! The two guys are excited.

Jack is sitting in the living room of the condo when Rita rushes in and urges him to leave because they'll be late for rehearsals. He asks her to wait first and motions to the couch, and only then does she notice that there's a guitar sitting there. He tells her it's a gift. She thanks him and tells him he's so sweet and starts opening the guitar case.

She pulls out a beautiful guitar and excitedly asks him how he knew that's the kind of guitar she likes. She continues to admire the guitar and at one point flips it over and sees "Jack heart Rita" on the back. She is surprised and at first doesn't know what to say.

Jack tells her he's wanted to tell her for the longest time, but that he didn't know how, so he figured he'd have it printed on the guitar. When she doesn't say anything, he starts putting away the guitar, thinking that she's not interested. But she stops him and asks if he wants to hear her response.

Jack asks her if he'll like her answer. She smiles and finally tells him that she thinks he will like her answer. Before he can react, she kisses him on the cheek, grabs the guitar and rushes off, saying they'll be late for practice. In a daze, he follows after her slowly and asks if she can repeat her answer.

Emilio is at home in the kitchen when Adora arrives and asks where Dorina is. Emilio tells her that Nico came by to pick Dorina up earlier. When Emilio asks her how she's doing, Adora says she doesn't have much time left so she needs to put all her affairs in order. Adora says if she doesn't get well, she doesn't want Dorina to be alone. She says she wants to tell the truth, and return Dorina to Rosamia.

Emilio is shocked. He urges her not to reveal the truth. Adora says Rosamia has long searched for her daughter and only Adora stands in the way of the truth. Emilio asks her to wait for the right time.

Dorina walks in just then and tells him it's time to go to her rehearsal. Emilio leaves to prepare the van. Dorina asks Adora what's wrong. Adora smiles brightly and says there's nothing wrong, and that she and Emilio were just chatting. They bid each other goodbye, but Dorina stops at the kitchen doorway and turns to look at Adora again, until Adora notices and urges her to go.

At rehearsals, Gary tells Dorina that Jack and Rita are on their way, and that Rita has agreed to be Jack's girlfriend. Dorina is happy. Gary says he knew right from the start that Jack and Rita liked each other. Dorina asks him how you can tell when two people like each other. Gary says it's obvious in the things they say and the way they behave. If a guy is kind to you, takes care of you, then it's a sign. He asks her if Nico is like that with her. Dorina says she doesn't know.

Just then, Jack and Rita arrive and Dorina congratulates them. Rita is surprised and behind her Jack waves his hands to stop Dorina. Rita realizes that he's already spread the news, but takes it in stride, and pretends to believe Jack when he says Dorina is just congratulating them for finally arriving at rehearsals.

Gary goes to see Oman to share the news that Nico and Dorina seem to be hitting it off. Oman says he shouldn't believe the tabloid article, and just ask Dorina outright. Gary says he already talked to Dorina, and if he were to base his impressions on Nico's behavior, then he can only conclude that Nico is courting her.

Oman says there's nothing they can do, after all Dorina likes Nico. And if Nico is indeed courting her, then it's a good thing, because that will make Dorina happy. Gary asks him if he's feeling okay, because it seems like he's willing to lose Dorina. Oman says he has no choice but to accept it because he stands no chance. Gary can only sigh.

Rosamia is performing at her club. At the end of her set, Emilio is waiting for her backstage. He asks if they can talk about their daughter.

Adora and Minda are at the restaurant. Minda asks when Adora will be going to the hospital. Adora says soon, but only on an outpatient basis because Emilio has not had a chance to clear things up with Rosamia yet.

Backstage, Rosamia asks Emilio what he wants to say about their daughter. He tells her that she will soon meet their daughter. Rosamia excitedly asks him if he knows where Emilia Rose is. He says he will bring Emilia Rose to her but he wants certain conditions in place. First, he tells her that she can't tell anyone who her daughter is. Rosamia is outraged and demands to know why she would need to keep quiet about her own child. Emilio assures her there are very good reasons, but he can't tell her what those reasons are.

Rosamia is furious. She says she never thought Emilio would stoop to using their child just to get her back. Emilio says that's not true. She orders him to leave and starts to cry. Emilio leaves.

At Lavinia's rehearsal, Jay and Chris arrive. Larry greets them and tells them to join the session. Jay says he thought he and Chris would be solo acts. Larry laughs and says that time will eventually come, but it shouldn't be rushed. He tells them to set-up their equipment. Unable to contradict Larry, Jay just shrugs. He and Chris start unpacking their guitars.

Lavinia arrives, and Larry tells her that her sponsorship slots are now all fully booked. He hopes that the venue will also be full. Lavinia asks why it would not be? Larry says it's because she and Dorina have the same market audience and they will have their respective concerts on the same date. Lavinia tells him she's not worried at all because her concert will be great. He just needs to be sure to do good work on the promotions.

Larry assures her he will, then informs her that Dorina and Lavinia will be guesting together tomorrow. The producers want them to perform a duet. Lavinia agrees and says she'll use it as an opportunity to show everyone just who is a better singer.

Adora finds Dorina at the dining table coughing and asks if she's ill. Dorina says she just choked a bit on the food, then asks if Adora is leaving to go somewhere. Adora explains that she and Minda want to buy something for the restaurant. Dorina just nods then remarks that they hardly see each other anymore, they're both so busy these days. And they don't even sleep in the same room anymore. She says she misses Adora.

Adora says Dorina should get used to this, after all Adora is not getting any younger, and the day will come when they won't be together. Dorina is upset at the thought, and tells Adora not to talk like that. Adora says she was only joking, but Dorina responds that this isn't a joking matter. Adora apologizes and half-jokingly promises she will never Dorina, even after she's married and on her honeymoon. Dorina smiles and asks Adora not to joke like that anymore. Adora agrees and urges her to finish her meal.

At rehearsals, Dorina tells Nico she's worried because their concert venue may not be filled... especially since Lavinia is popular. People will surely flock to see her. She asks if they can move the concert date, especially since she has a cough. Nico says they shouldn't change it because it would be admitting defeat. Besides, the logistics are all set and the advertizers have agreed already.

He then informs her that she has a duet with Lavinia on a guesting the next day. He says Lavinia has accepted also, and there's no backing out anymore. Dorina is even more worried.

The next day, Lavinia and Rita come face to face backstage. Lavinia tells Rita she chose the wrong camp. She tells Rita that Barbara was right -- Rita is stupid.

Lavinia walks down the corridor and finds a staffer briefing Dorina on their segment. She constantly interrupts the staffer, saying she knows what to do already and doesn't need to be briefed. She rushes the staffer to start their segment right away because she still has to go elsewhere afterwards.

Their segment is a duet of "Dito Ba?" During their performance, Dorina keeps coughing and has difficulty singing the song. She eventually walks off the stage. The band tries to comfort Dorina as Lavinia triumphantly finishes the rest of the song with the stage all to herself.

In the dressing room, Dorina coughs nonstop. Nico tells Gary he'll be taking Dorina to the hospital.

In her own dressing room, Lavinia is pleased with the way events have unfolded. She says she's sure people will now choose her concert over Dorina's. Lavinia tells Larry "I told you so" and says he worries too much.

Just then, Libby rushes into the dressing room to say that Barbara is in the next studio being interviewed.
