Episode 18.5
The staffer tries to turn him away but Oscar is persistent; he next asks if she happens to know where Rosamia is. She says no, and just then gets a call on her cellphone. Oscar listens intently as the staffer says to her caller -- yes, we are looking for her. As the staffer writes down the address, Oscar looks over her shoulder to see what she's writing.
After ending the call, the staffer tears off the top page of her notepad and leaves with the address. Oscar immediately goes to the table and tears off the blank page on top of the notepad. He squints a little and tries to decipher the impression left behind by the staffer's handwriting. He smiles.
At the Pineda home, Dorina and Bencho are getting ready to leave (most likely for Bencho's school) and are saying goodbye to Adora. Minda is there as well.
Dorina is already at the door when she turns back to ask Adora about the arrangement they have, but Adora interrupts her and assures her that she'll be okay with Minda there to take care of her.
After Dorina and Bencho leave, Adora remarks that she feels sad for them, because they're always worried about her. Minda says Adora can't expect anything else since they love her. Adora says she doesn't want them to be worried. Children are supposed to be happy, laughing, and carefree. She says she would like to see them again the way they were before -- happy.
Rosamia's agent arrives in a van to pick her up. Oscar arrives just in time to see Rosamia get in the van. He takes a couple of photos, then climbs into a cab to follow the van as it pulls away.
The agent and Rosamia go up the stairs at a new building and enter a small room. Oscar follows them up the stairs. Inside the room, the agent says it's just a small place and asks Rosamia if it will be okay. Rosamia says it's fine.
The agent says it's likely that Dorina won't find her in this new location, and that the manager downstairs does not know that Rosamia is there because she's registered under a different name. Oscar overhears all this and quickly leaves. The agent reminds Roamia of the bonus she promised. Rosamia acknowledges the reminder.
Lavinia is with Larry entering La Calma's office when she gets a call from Oscar. She puts Oscar on hold for amoment then tells Larry that Oscar now knows where Rosamia is. She asks him what they can do with that tidbit. Larry thinks for a moment, then says they should wait for a more opportune time to make use of that information. He tells Lavinia to instruct Oscar to get away from there for now before he's discovered.
Dorina and Emilio are walking in one of the hospital corridors. Dorina says she feels torn because she'd like to look for Rosamia but she needs to focus on Adora also. Emilio suggests to her that she not worry about Rosamia for now, since it is Adora who needs her attention now. Rosamia will still be around.
The agent visits Rosamia in her small room and shares some bad news -- their departure has been delayed due to visa problems of another singer who is scheduled to travel with them. Rosamia is dismayed. She tells the agent she can't stay cooped up in her room much longer, plus her savings are quickly running out. The agent is sympathetic but says they can't do much about it other than wait. She encourages Rosamia to consider working on side jobs for a while. Rosamia says she can't do that because people will be able to find her.
Dorina is rehearsing with her band while Zossimo worriedly watches her; Dorina seems to be tired and not entirely focused on her singing.
At the end of her song, Zossimo asks her if she's okay. He says lately she seems to not have enough energy. He asks if she's getting enough rest. Dorina confesses that she's been keeping watch over Adora at the hospital, and that she doesn't sleep until Adora is already sleeping as well.
Zossimo says to her that she should rest, even if it's just for a few days. He tells her to take a break for a few days, saying that keeping her busy with preparatory work for the concert will be useless if she's exhausted by the time the concert date arrives. Dorina is happy.
At the Pineda home, Dorina is setting the table for dinner. Adora and Minda are arguing, prompting Dorina to ask what they're talking about. Minda explains that she knows of a faith healer who's really good and she wants Adora to go see the healer.
Dorina asks Adora why they shouldn't go. Adora says she doesn't believe in faith healers, and besides, it's too far because it's in Tagaytay. Dorina says that the timing is just right, since Zossimo just gave her a few days off and told her to take a break. They can kill two birds with one stone by visiting the faith healer and it will be a break for her. Adora relents and agrees to go, even though she says again that she has no faith in faith healers.
Kylie's father and Kylie visit Oman. Kylie's father asks if Oman has made a decision about his offer. Kylie interjects and says he shouldn't pressure Oman. Kylie's father says he just wants Oman to know that he's serious about the offer.
Oman expresses concern, saying that the job seems to be too big for him to handle. Kylie's father says you haven't tried it yet and you don't fully grasp the scope of the work. How can you be sure it's too big for you?
Kylie's father says if Oman is interested, he can introduce Oman to his current foreman so he knows what's involved in the job. Oman says that would really help. Kylie's dad says the timing is just right, because the foreman will be at the resort this weekend. He invites Oman to join them at the resort so he can talk to the foreman.
At the Pineda home, Bencho is excited at the prospect of going on an outing with her family. Minda says she can't join them right away because she has errands to run, but she will follow shortly thereafter. Adora says this family outing is a great idea since it's been a while since they've all been together.
Dorina tentatively asks Adora if it's okay for her to invite Oman to join them. Adora says yes.
Kylie and Oman are walking together on campus. Kylie tells Oman that he'll really enjoy the resort because it's a great place, you'll feel at one with nature. Oman reminds her that he's not going there to enjoy himself. It's more like a business trip for him. He laughs at his choice of words, saying it makes him sound important.
They turn the corner and run into Kylie's ex Andre who is with another girl. Andre introduces the girl he's with. Kylie likewise introduces Oman, and says he's her boyfriend.
Oman is surprised, but he quickly plays along. He confirms that he's Kylie's boyfriend, then pointedly asks Kylie what time they're leaving for the resort tomorrow. Kylie catches on and quickly says they're leaving at 7am. Oman explains to Andre that he's been invited to join them at the resort. He quickly excuses himself and Kylie, saying they have an early start the next day.
At the Pineda home, Minda and Adora are sitting together in the living room. Minda says to Adora it's a good thing that she agreed to see the faith healer. Adora says only God can heal her at this point, and that she only agreed to go for Dorina. She says she can't bear to say no to Dorina, when she can see how desperate Dorina is to see Adora get well. Hope is all that's left for them. She cannot take that away from her children.
Minda hesitates, then finally says that she can't go with them. Adora asks her how that can be, when Minda was the one who came up with this idea in the first place! Minda says she thinks it's better if this stays as a family outing, so they have time to be with each other. Adora says that's why she agreed to go in the first place. If she can't be with her children much longer, she can at least stay with them as much as she can for as long as she can.
Larry and Lavinia are together at a restaurant. He apologizes for not stopping by her rehearsals. Lavinia says it's okay. She also advises him that she changed one of the songs on her repertoire. Larry says she's the one who'll be singing so it's better if she's comfortable with her selections.
Lavinia asks Larry if he knows what songs Dorina will be singing. Larry says he doesn't have the list, but he does know that she'll be singing a new song, another composition by Rosamia.
Lavinia is worried when she hears this. She reminds Larry that Dorina's first hit was one of Rosamia's compositions. She says she should have one of Rosamia's compositions in her repertoire as well. Larry tells her she knows full well how Rosamia feels about them. It would be next to impossible to get a song from her. Lavinia says to Larry that she's sure he can find a way. Pointedly, she tells him that she has faith in him.
Rosamia goes to a pawnshop and leaves with some cash. Unknown to her, Oscar has followed her.
Lavinia arrives at La Calma's office to meet Larry and asks if he now has one of Rosamia's song for her concert. Larry says he hasn't had a chance to talk to Rosamia. Lavinia is upset at this news. She says it's easy enough to deal with Rosamia. All you have to do is offer her enough money. They already know from Oscar that Rosamia has already pawned some of her jewelry. She's desperate for cash.
Larry says Rosamia's not the type to just agree regardless of the amount of money involved. Petulantly, Lavinia says Larry just doesn't know how to handle her. She tells Larry she's starting to have second thoughts about their relationship because she's now starting to doubt his ability to make him #1. Larry assures her he'll figure it out. She just has to trust him, because he'll give her what she wants.
Dorina waits for Oman on the path she knows he takes when he comes home from school. When Oman arrives, she invites him to join the Pineda family on their outing to Batangas, saying it would not be complete if he wasn't with them. Oman reluctantly reveals that Kylie's dad has already invited him to join them at a resort. He says he can't cancel at the last minute, it would be too embarrassing.
Dorina is disappointed, but she downplays how she feels and says it's okay if he can't join them, and that there'll always be a next time. They part ways awkwardly.
