Episode 12.5
Now seated at one of the empty tables at the restaurant, Lavinia asks Larry what happened especially since he had guaranteed her a victory. Larry reveals that one of the committee members didn't receive part of his bribe and became angry, so he reported the bribe to the chairman, prompting the chairman to withhold the award from Lavinia.
As his words sink in, Lavinia realizes what it all means. Larry confirms that Lavinia was the real winner of the award, but that they lost it because they tried to bribe the committee. Enraged, Lavinia cries as she hits Larry repeatedly, saying over and over again that she hates him. Larry can only apologize as Lavinia weeps uncontrollably and accuses him of causing her so much embarrassment and costing her the award.
Back at Dorina's party, Adora asks Gary if he has seen Dorina. She says Emilio and Dorina are both missing.
Dorina and Emilio are outside Oman's dorm and she excitedly shows Oman her trophy. She asks him why he wasn't there at the awards ceremony. When he says it shouldn't matter to her whether or not he's there, she says that's not true.
She says she has gotten used to them holding hands while waiting together for the results of her singing contests, that he's always the first to congratulate her, and he's always the one who carries her trophies for her. Oman is touched and finally says that he did try to go to the awards night. He promises that he'll be there for her next time.
After Lavinia has calmed down, Larry assures her that she's still #1 and that no one can take that position from her because he will ensure it. Lavinia asks him if he will ensure it in the same way he ensured she would win the Artist of the Year award?
As tears stream down Lavinia's face, Larry acknowledges that he failed her this time, but he promises that it won't happen again. He also promises her that he will do everything in his power to bring down Dorina. He says he'll do it if that's what makes her happy. He also promises that no one will ever give her a reason to cry anymore as he wipes away her tears before kissing her.
Dorina invites Oman to return with her to the victory party, saying she's sure he will enjoy himself. Oman begs off, saying he has to wake up early the next day for his interview at the school. He says good night and returns to his dorm room, without giving Dorina a chance to change his mind.
Lavinia comes to her senses and stops Larry from kissing her. Larry confesses that he loves her. In a panic, Lavinia reminds him that her contract with him prevents her from having a relationship. Larry tells her they can change the contract. She says no, that her career is the most important thing in her life. Nothing else can take its place. She runs off leaving Larry to stare after her.
At home, Rita opens the door to let Lavinia in. As they enter the darkened living room, Barbara switches on the lights and applauds as she mocks Lavinia for losing the award to Dorina.
Barbara ignores Rita's attempts to stop her, and taunts Lavinia by saying that Dorina has now overtaken her, and that before long, Lavinia's career will be over. With angry tears streaming down her face, Lavinia reminds Barbara that they're linked. If Lavinia falls from grace, Barbara will fall with her. Rita can only look at Barbara reproachfully as she walks past her mother.
The next morning, Zossimo shows the tabloid headlines to Nico -- "Lavinia Nagtangkang Bilhin ang Award, Buking!" Zossimo says that's what they get for playing dirty, karma.
Nico wonders out loud how Lavinia is doing. In disbelief, Zossimo asks him if he still has feelings for her. Nico says he just feels sorry for her, now that she's besieged by intrigues. Zossimo only shakes his head; it's obvious he feels no such sympathy. Nico changes the subject by saying he thinks it's time to organize a solo concert for Dorina, to take advantage of the publicity from her winning the award. Zossimo agrees.
Barbara is reading the tabloid headline as she meets Oscar. The reporter asks her what they'll do to respond to this. Barbara shocks Oscar by saying she has no plans to do anything. Oscar asks her how she can just stand by and do nothing when she has worked so hard all these years to build up Lavinia's career. Barbara tells him she wants Lavinia to see that her fame is fleeting, that it can disappear easily -- especially if she cuts Barbara off. Barbara reveals to Oscar that she now has no access to Lavinia's money.
Lavinia enters Larry's office and shows him the tabloid headline. She says: "You want me, Larry? Fine, you can have me... on one condition. Pabagsakin mo si Dorina. Gusto ko yung sadsad sa lupa. At pag naka-angat na ako uli, pakakasalan kita." Larry tells her she's got a deal.
Rosamia and Dorina are chatting at Rosamia's house. Rosamia excitedly congratulates her saying she was shouting with excitement when Dorina won the awards. She also says that it's too bad what happened to Lavinia.
Dorina tells her that they had an impromptu victory party last night, and that she knows how much Rosamia hates crowds and parties so she didn't invite Rosamia anymore. However, she'd like to still celebrate with Rosamia by having dinner tonight, just the two of them. At Dorina's insistence, Rosamia agrees, provided that this is not a setup with Emilio. Dorina promises it's not. They agree to meet at the restaurant.
Libby pays an unannounced visit on The Halo to invite them to meet with Larry at LaCalma Recording's office. At first Gary isn't interested, but the guys convince him that there's no harm in going to listen to what Larry has to say. After all, listening doesn't mean they're committing to anything.
At the meeting, Larry lays out a very attractive offer to develop them as an all-male band. Jay and Chris find the offer very tempting.
Lavinia gets a phone call from Oscar, who asks that they meet later because he has something important to tell her. Lavinia agrees to meet him.
Gary turns down Larry's offer, saying that money is not the issue here. They've signed with Zoni Records, and signing with La Calma at this time would be wrong.
After they leave the conference room, Jay and Chris are unhappy that Gary has unilaterally made the decision for the band without giving them a chance to talk things out. Chris says it's a great offer because it will finally give them a chance to be something more than just Dorina's backup.
Gary asks if they intend to turn their backs on Zoni just because there's a better offer? Jack defends Gary's decision, saying that the timing is all too suspicious considering the bad blood between Nico and Larry, Dorina and Lavinia.
Jay says he doesn't care what the motive is as long as the offer is good. Gary says he's being stupid if he thinks that way. He says he won't sign with La Calma and warns them not to tell Dorina about the offer. Jack agrees with Gary -- they have a contract with Zoni which they must honor. The timing and the methods are both wrong.
At D'Adorables Restaurant, customers ask Adora if Dorina is there so they can congratulate her. Adora is all proud but says that Dorina isn't there. As she bustles around serving the customers, Adora suddenly gets a dizzy spell.
Oscar and Lavinia meet at a restaurant. Oscar informs Lavinia that Barbara wants his assistance to wreck Lavinia's career. He tells her it's going to be easy to do, especially with the scandal from the awards night still so fresh. Lavinia asks him why he's telling her all this. Oscar says it's simple, because she's the one who has the money. If she retains his services, he will not push through with her mother's plans. Lavinia agrees, then excuses herself to go to the rest room.
Just then, Rosamia and Dorina enter the same restaurant and are led by a waiter to an adjacent table. Lavinia sees them together when she returns from the rest room, and cannot stop herself from confronting her rivals. She walks over to their table and says "Losers stick together."
Rosamia responds by asking who lost last night. Dorina ignores Lavinia and suggests to Rosamia that they go to another restaurant. As they stand up, Lavinia grabs Dorina's arm and says nobody snubs her. Dorina tells her to let go of her arm if she doesn't want any trouble, further angering Lavinia.
You were then but an ordinary fan. Tapos ngayon, daig mo pa ang reyna kung umasta?! Basura!
Rosamia tries to pull Dorina away, but Dorina stands her ground.
Lavinia is outraged and picks up a glass of water from the table. Dorina sees what's coming and grabs the glass while Lavinia is still holding it, and throws the water into Lavinia's face.
Dorina: Amanos!
