Episode 13.1

Dorina and Rosamia leave the restaurant. Oscar rushes to Lavinia's side. She asks him if he was able to catch the incident on camera. He says yes. She tells him to make sure it gets to the papers.

Jay and Chris are at a bar discussing the lost opportunity to sign with La Calma. Jay says they shouldn't let the opportunity pass even though Gary and Jack are not interested.

Adora is collecting plates from the restaurant tables and collapses to the floor, practically losing consciousness.

At the hospital, the doctor tells Adora that she doesn't have a fever, but he recommends that she get a check-up. He also tells them not to believe in hexes. Adora tells him about the bumps that she has and shows him the one on her arm and on her back. The doctor examines them and says he wants to run more tests.

In the van, Rosamia tells Dorina she can't get over Lavinia's expression when Dorina threw water into her face. Dorina feels guilty, but Rosamia thanks her because it's something that she had been wanting to do herself for so long. Emilio is just quiet this whole time, driving the van.

Rosamia finally realizes that she and Emilio are in the same car, and asks that she be let off so she can make her own way home. Dorina insists on driving her back to her house since it's late. Emilio says they're not allowed to pull over on the street they're on anyway. Outgunned, Rosamia allows them to bring her home.

Jay and Chris go see Larry and tell him they're interested in signing with La Calma and they can audition for new members to form a new band. Larry agrees with their plan but tells them that until the new band is formed, it's better if they stay with Zoni. He also says he wants to know what Zoni Records has planned, so he can know how he can best negotiate the end of their contract with Zoni.

Back home, Lavinia confronts Barbara about her plan to attack Lavinia's career. Lavinia laughs at Barbara's threats, because she believes Barbara has no power, especially now that Oscar works for Lavinia. Lavinia says she learned from Barbara that money is what makes the world go round. And now that Barbara no longer has access to Lavinia's money, Lavinia has all the power.

Enraged, Barbara tries to slap Lavinia, but her daughter catches her wrist in mid-air, before Lavinia slaps Barbara. Rita walks into the living room just in time to witness this.

Lavinia reminds Barbara that she had warned her about hurting Lavinia. Rita berates Lavinia for her actions, and Lavinia tells her to stay out of it. Rita reminds her that Barbara is still their mother, no matter what she's done. Lavinia angrily says she learned to fight because of the way their mother has treated them all these years.

Lavinia reminds her sister that Rita was the one who was always fighting with Barbara. She accuses Rita of siding with Barbara. Rita tells her she's not siding with anyone. She just doesn't want to lose either of them, she doesn't want their family to be torn apart.

Lavinia tells her that it's too late for that, and walks off with angry tears, leaving Rita to stare after her.

Back at Rosamia's house, Dorina is packing up all the liquor bottles and cleaning up the living room. Rosamia reminds her that she's not supposed to be doing this anymore. Dorina says that wasn't their agreement. She reminds Rosamia that she's won the right to claim a prize from Rosamia, and this is the prize that she wants. Emilio coaxingly asks Rosamia to let Dorina have her way, especially since Dorina is just as hard-headed as Rosamia. Rosamia finally relents and Dorina is thrilled.

Just then, Dorina's cellphone beeps. Minda has sent her a text message to let her know that Adora is in the hospital. Emilio and Dorina rush off.

Jay and Chris get home to find Gary in the living room. He asks them where they've been, but Jay just gives him the brush off.

At the hospital, Adora says she's not sick, that she's just tired from working too hard. Dorina says the doctor wouldn't bother to admit her if she weren't sick. Adora jokingly says that she thinks the doctor just has a thing for her, that's why he wants to admit her and keep her in the hospital. They all share a laugh, but Adora and Minda exchange worried looks when Dorina and Bencho are not looking.

In the montage that follows, Adora undergoes a battery of tests, including several different scans.

Larry visits someone and asks for another loan of P10 million. The loan officer tells him that he still has an outstanding loan so it will be difficult to grant Larry another one. Larry says he'll be happy to give the loan officer a 1% commission if he gets the loan approved. The loan officer agrees to take the bribe.

At the hospital, Adora assures Dorina that the test results will all be negative. After all, microbes are all afraid of her. Dorina says that may be the case, but Adora should stay in the hospital until the doctor releases her. Adora agrees and reminds Dorina of her appointment with Nico. Dorina departs, leaving Adora alone in the hospital room, looking worried.

At Nico's office, he shows her the latest tabloid headline and tells her she shouldn't have done what she did at the restaurant. Dorina admits that she was wrong and promises him that it won't happen again. He says they'll make up for the bad publicity through promos and advertising. He also informs her that they're planning a solo concert for her. The rest of the band hears this, and Jay asks Nico what his plans are for the band if Dorina will be having a solo concert. Nico has no answer.

Larry is on the phone in his office. He learns from the caller, Jay, that Nico has a solo concert planned for Dorina. He informs Lavinia of Nico's plans. He says they will repackage Lavinia's CD and they will announce a solo concert for Lavinia. She is pleased.

In her bedroom, Barbara cries silently, until she finally comes to a decision. She places two bags on the bed, and starts emptying her closets and packing her clothes.

Oman and Lolo are combing through the list of accepted applicants at school, hoping to find Oman's name. Oman finally sees his name on the list -- Norman Fidel Gonzales. He is thrilled and practically dances with joy as he and Lolo leave the school grounds.

At the hospital, Minda gives Adora her meal and asks after Bencho. Minda tells her that one of the neighbors is keeping an eye on her. Adora continues to deny that she's sick. Minda reminds her that her bumps are still growing. Adora continues to deny that there's a problem. She says she can't be sick because she can't leave her two children.

Emilio is reading a newspaper at Dorina's van when Oscar approaches him and asks if he's Dorina's driver. Oscar tells him that he's a fan and that Dorina seems like a good person, although you can never tell with celebrities. Emilio assures him that Dorina is genuinely a good person. Oscar says that may be the case, but in case Emilio happens to have any information about Dorina, he would like to know about it. Oscar hands him a calling card and tells Emilio that he's a publicist and that he's willing to pay for any inside information that Emilio can give him.

Emilio becomes enraged and starts punching Oscar. The publicist is taken by surprise and unable to defend himself. He finally manages to get away, but not before warning Emilio that he will be back.

A nurse enters Adora's hospital room. Adora asks her if she can talk to the doctor. The nurse says the doctor already has the test results and will be speaking to her.

In Larry's office, Oscar is still angry at Emilio. He is sporting a large bruise on his face and says he intends to sue Emilio. Larry advises him not to do that, because it will only look bad for Lavinia. Lavinia tells Oscar she'll take care of his hospital expenses, and asks him to follow Larry's advice. Oscar finally agrees not to sue, but he says he will find every opportunity to get his revenge.

In Adora's hospital room, the doctor asks if Adora has any history of cancer. She says her father died of lung cancer, and that her sister died of cancer of the uterus. She herself had cancer of the uterus, but she had a hysterectomy, which took care of it.

The doctor tells her that she has lymphoma -- cancer of the lymph nodes. Adora is speechless.
