Episode 18.2

In La Calma's office, Larry is meeting with his staff. He says that although the upcoming event is a joint concert with Zoni and they have a joint marketing plan, La Calma still intends to do additional marketing to heavily promote Lavinia.

He also shows his staff two ticket designs for the concert, and says that the tickets will be sold in two colors -- one color per singer -- so that they'll see which singer has more fans.

Larry then orders Libby to buy Lavinia's tickets to prop up her ticket sales. Concerned, Libby says that if they buy their own tickets, he will not recover his investment in this concert. Larry says he doesn't care about the money at this point. He says this is the fight of the century -- a fight that he intends to win.

Adora, Bencho, and Dorina are out on a family picnic. Adora watches Bencho and Dorina entertaining themselves in a nearby playground and cannot help but think back to how she raised her two daughters. Before long, Dorina and Bencho join Adora at the picnic table. It is a moment of bonding for the Pineda family.

Rosamia is at the overseas employment office and hands her passport to the agent, then asks when she can see a copy of her contract. The agent happily tells her that she can give her a copy right now. She hands Rosamia some papers and asks the singer to review it at home and submit it once she's signed it. Rosamia thanks her.

Rosamia is about to leave when the agent tells her that a man came by asking about her. When Rosamia looks concerned, the agent assured her that she did not reveal Rosamia's whereabouts to anyone, as she promised.

Rosamia thanks her again and leaves. In her rush to leave, she bumps into someone on the street, and it is Emilio!

Emilio asks Rosamia to come home, saying that Dorina is looking for her. Rosamia refuses and tries to leave, but Emilio stops her and asks why she's doing this.

Tearfully, Rosamia says it's because Dorina already has a mother and she is not needed. Emilio does not believe that to be the reason, and he asks her for the truth. Rosamia says she's not a good mother for Dorina. She will only ruin Dorina's dreams. Emilio tries to comfort her and hugs her.

Larry is sitting in Lavinia's foyer and Lavinia is behind him massaging his shoulders. He says the massage feels good, and asks Lavinia how her rehearsals went. She tells him that rehearsals went well and that Dorina will regret agreeing to the concert because when it is over, the fans will only love one singer.

Larry turns to look at her and places a hand on Lavinia's thigh. Lavinia grows increasingly uncomfortable, and as Larry tries to be more intimate, she panics and says no to his advances.

Larry does not take her rejection well. He angrily accuses her of just using him, of not having any real intention of marrying him.

Emilio returns to the Pineda home alone. Dorina opens the door and asks him if he had any luck in his search. He lies and tells her that he has not yet found Rosamia.

Dorina continues her rehearsals with Jack, singing Nasaan Ka Man. As the song plays, we see Emilio sitting alone in his room, looking over an old photo of himself and Rosamia with baby Emilia Rose. At her own home, Rosamia is looking over her employment contract, holding a pen.

Back at the Arguelles home, Larry angrily asks Lavinia just what he means to her. Lavinia assures him that she loves him, but Larry says he doesn't feel it, that he thinks she has no plans of ever marrying him.

Now angry also, Lavinia starts unbuttoning her top, and says that if giving him her body is all she needs to do to prove her love for him, then he should just help himself. Larry is shocked and stops her. Tearfully, Lavinia assures him again that she's not using him. She says she's just tired from all her rehearsals, that she's working so hard to prepare for the concert because she does not want to let him down.

Larry is moved by her tears. He apologizes and hugs her, saying he was just taken aback by her rejection. He does not see Lavinia's expression change as he hugs her. She was just putting up an act with him.

The next day, Dorina continues rehearsing with Jack on the keyboards, this time singing Felt So Right. Zossimo approaches them at the end of the song. He says he came by to tell Dorina that she has a guesting in ASAP to promote the concert, and that they've agreed the appearance will be a duet with Lavinia, and the song will be "Dito Ba?" Zossimo asks Jack to rehearse the song with Dorina.

Jack is surprised at the choice of the song. He asks -- isn't "Dito Ba" one of Lavinia's songs? Zossimo says yes, but that it shouldn't be a problem.

The next day at Larry's office, Lavinia is unhappy that she will have to perform a duet with Dorina. She asks Larry what Dorina's reaction was, and Larry tells her that Dorina accepted. He asks her if she's going to back down, and Lavinia rises to the challenged and tells him she'll accept it also.

Minda, Dorina, and Bencho are about to leave the Pineda home for Dorina's ASAP guesting when they hear Adora throwing up in the bathroom. Adora comes out and she looks exhausted and ill.

Everyone has gathered in Adora's bedroom. Adora is now in bed with Bencho and Minda beside her. Dorina calls Zossimo on the cellphone and tells him that Adora has taken ill and she cannot leave her mother. She listens to him for a moment, then acknowledges that people will think she was afraid and backed out at the last minute. She asks for his understanding, saying that she can't leave her mother at a time like this.

When Dorina hangs up the phone, Adora urges her to push through with the guesting. She says Dorina has to go and perform because otherwise Lavinia will become even more confident and will walk all over her during the concert. She asks Dorina to go and perform for her mother, and for Dorina herself. Adora says Dorina should not give up in her fight, and promises that she will also not give up in her own fight against cancer.

At the studio, Lavinia is walking with Libby and remarks that Dorina will not be coming after all. Libby says she heard the same thing. Lavinia smiles and says she knew Dorina would be too scared to face her.

Behind them, they hear footsteps, and the two women turn just in time to see Dorina and Zossimo coming down the corridor. The two singers exchange looks for a moment, before Dorina and Zossimo turn and walk down another corridor.

The performance pushes through. Dorina opens the song. Lavinia leaves her spot on the stage and instead walks up to Dorina while Dorina is still singing.

When it is her turn to sing, Lavinia keeps her microphone down, and says to Dorina that this is not the appropriate venue for a showdown. She tells Dorina that they will just see each other at the Araneta Coliseum, then walks off the stage.

Backstage, Libby is still shocked. She asks Lavinia what she thinks she's doing by walking off the stage like that. Libby says Larry will surely be upset. Lavinia disagrees, saying Larry always supports her whatever she does.

They walk up to a small TV monitor backstage and watch as Dorina continues her performance. Lavinia mockingly says -- just look at her... she looks so stupid singing the rest of the song.

But as they continue to watch, the camera pans through the crowd and the fans are wildly applauding Dorina's performance.

Libby listens with approval as Dorina belts out the chorus, then remarks slyly to Lavinia: Who looks stupid now? Lavinia tells her to shut up, then walks off in a huff. Libby just smiles.

After her performance, Zossimo and Dorina are walking backstage. He tells her he's so proud of her because she performed brilliantly. And not only did she perform well, she's proven to Lavinia that she can face Lavinia even after everything that the other singer has done, and that she's not the type to just back down.

They encounter two staffers in the corridor and they congratulate Dorina for her beautiful performance. Dorina thanks them. After the staffers leave, Zossimo is all smiles. He remarks that even people who are used to hearing professional singers perform can't help but admire her performance.

They stop in the corridor, and Zossio tells her he'll go get the car and they can just meet in front. Dorina agrees. Now alone, she returns to her dressing room.

Just as Dorina walks in the dressing room door, a towel flies from across the room right at her face! It is Lavinia, waiting inside the dressing room.

With barely concealed malevolence, Lavinia asks Dorina if she perspired earlier... if she felt nervous or worried. Because that's the way things are when it's a live show. A lot of things can happen. Lavinia continues -- but a lot more things can happen in Araneta. Will you be able to handle it?

She walks towards the door to stand behind Dorina as she says quietly -- because if you can't handle it, you should back out.

Lavinia is about to leave when Dorina turns and asks her -- why are you doing this to me? There are a lot of other singers out there. Why are you so angry with me in particular? What have I done?

Lavinia is surprised by the question and for a moment there is confusion on her face. Finally, she answers: I don't know.

Lavinia leaves the dressing room and closes the door quietly behind her. Now alone in the room, Dorina fights back tears.
