Episode 11.2

Gary and Oman fight, but they end up tiring each other out and stop.

Zossimo says that Larry looked ready to punch Nico in the face after their merger talks went nowhere. Nico says this can only mean one thing... things are looking bad for LaCalma, and Zoni is moving into the #1 position, and Larry feels he's no longer in control. The two business partners congratulate each other.

Larry holds a staff meeting at LaCalma and complains that Lavinia's songs are not getting enough air time. Libby says not all the stations accept payolas. Larry says he doesn't care. He wants Lavinia to be the most requested artist by the end of the week.

He also castigates a staffer for her inability to renew Lavinia's contract with Diva Perfumes. When they are unable to get the results he wants, he calls them all incompetent and throws them out of his office.

Lavinia and Nico bump into each other at one of the studios in ABS-CBN. Lavinia tries to ignore him but Nico calls after her. He expresses concern for her career. He says she should leave LaCalma if she wants a long-term career. She mocks his words. He says that whether she believes it or not, he is concerned about her achievements. He says he doesn't want all that to lead to nothing. He tells her it's best for her if she has Larry release her from her contract.

Gary apologizes to Oman for starting the fight. Oman admits he shouldn't have deliberately misled Dorina about Gary and apologizes as well. Gary says at least he now has proof that Oman is in love with Dorina also. Oman doesn't deny it. Gary extends his hand to Oman and says "May the best man win." He pulls his hand back at the last minute as Oman reaches to take it. But he's quick to show that he's just joking, and the two guys shake hands.

Lavinia tells Nico he's crazy if he thinks she'll believe him. She tells him that Larry assures her that her sales are unequalled and that she's still in demand with all the producers and advertizers. Nico tells her that's not true, because if it were, Larry would never offer to merge LaCalma with Zoni. Lavinia is shocked by this news.

Nico tells her Larry is desperate and that they're on the way down. Lavinia calls him a liar. Nico advises her to ask Larry. He says it doesn't matter to him which artist is on top because there's room for both Dorina and Lavinia in the industry. Which is why he thinks it's best for her if she were to leave LaCalma. He says he's just concerned for her.

Lavinia doesn't believe him and asks if he's truly concerned... especially for a monster (like her)? She tells him that "this monster is still breathing fire." Unlike him, she can keep fighting. And she's used to being alone at the top. She won't let some nobody take that away from her.

At D'Adorables Restaurant, Nico tells the Pineda family that the hotel has been booked for Dorina's party. He also reminds her that she has to go to the designer tomorrow for the fitting of her gown. He says he wants to be sure that all the details are ironed out. He says he has already invited her bandmates, their former neighbors, and the presidents of her fan clubs. Dorina says she has someone else in mind but she would like to extend the invitation herself. He gives her a blank invitation to use.

He also asks her if she already has an escort. The ladies look at each other but don't answer. He says if she doesn't have enough male friends to complete her 18 roses, she should let him know and he can take care of it. He also says that the first dance is usually with her father. Dorina says she doesn't have one. Nico then asks if she has a close uncle or godfather, or any father figure. While Dorina looks blank, Adora suggests Emilio. Dorina likes the idea and immediately asks Emilio if it would be okay with him. Emilio is surprised but he agrees right away and is grateful to Adora.

Lavinia goes to see Larry and asks if it's true that they're losing to Zoni. Larry denies it. He asks her why she would believe Nico? She then asks why he proposed a merger with Zoni. He says he was just bluffing to lull Nico into a false sense of security. He says it's all part of his plan. It's not clear whether or not Lavinia believes him.

Gary and Oman arrive at the same time in front of D'Adorables Restaurant. They see each other and immediately race in to see Dorina. When Dorina greets them, the two guys indulge in bit verbal swordsplay but Dorina just laughs at their antics.

Dorina then asks for their help, saying she needs an escort. Gary and Oman both volunteer. She tells them she actually has someone in mind but she's afraid to ask that person. Oman thinks she means him, and says she should just ask straight out because he's sure the person will say yes. Smiling and almost giddy, Dorina says she thinks this man is the perfect prince charming for her, because he's a gentleman and kind. Gary, thinking she means him, tells her she's sure that person will not turn her down. She then drops the bombshell: she asks them how she can ask Nico to be her escort?

Libby enters Larry's office and says Dorina's debut is now around the corner and it's sure to drum up some publicity for her. Larry says they should match it with their own celebration -- perhaps Lavinia's anniversary in showbiz. Lavinia tells him she started in January. He says no one will know anyway, and that they should time it with her CD going double-platinum.

Lavinia looks worried. She says Dorina's event is just days away. She doesn't think that her CD sales will be double-platinum by then. Larry instructs Libby to buy all of Lavinia's CDs, but to do it in such a way that no one in the press finds out. Lavinia tells him she's bothered by this tactic. She asks him if this means she can't get the sales on her own. He assures her that she can but since they're racing against time, this is necessary.

Gary and Oman are dejected at Dorina's choice of escort. As they leave D'Adorables Restaurant together, Oman says he thought he only had Gary as a rival, and that he's no match for Nico. Gary, on the other hand, says he's not afraid. He may not be as rich but he's educated, well-mannered, and earns enough to take care of Dorina. He's confident he can beat Nico. Smiling, he drives off in his vehicle, leaving Oman on the street in front of the restaurant with only his insecurities to keep him company.

Dorina invites Rosamia to her debut, practically begging her to go because Rosamia doesn't want to go. Rosamia says that the day of Dorina's birthday is the same day that she lost her daughter. She asks for Dorina's understanding, and Dorina says yes. However, she says she hopes Rosamia will change her mind. She leaves her invitation on Rosamia's piano.

Barbara enters Lavinia's bedroom to inform her that ASAP can't accomodate her showbiz anniversary celebration on ASAP because three gaps are already devoted to Dorina's debut. Lavinia finds this news difficult to accept. She asks Barbara to use her many connections to make it possible for her to guest on TV, even if it means Lavinia will guest at another station.

Barbara expresses mock surprise at being asked to help. She reminds Lavinia that she once said Larry can handle everything. Lavinia asks Barbara not to give her a hard time now, especially since she's in such difficult circumstances. Barbara asks her if this means she is needed once again? Wisely, Lavinia says she always needs her mother. Barbara is pleased at this victory and promises to help Lavinia. But she says it's too late for TV guestings. Lavinia will have to settle for a Fans' Day.

At Zonis office, Nico reminds Dorina of her gown fitting and advises Dorina to have Adora and Bencho accompany her. He also asks her to have Emilio and Oman go to the tailor. He then asks her who she chose to have as her date -- Oman or Gary? Dorina says she didn't choose either of them. She hesitantly asks him if he would be her escort. He asks why him? She replies that all this is possible because of him, that without him she would still be selling flowers on the street. She says he's a big part of her life, and she hopes he would be her escort. Smiling, Nico rises from behind his desk and with an almost formal air tells her it would be an honor. Dorina is all smiles as she thanks him.

Dorina appears on ASAP to celebrate her birthday. As she sings "I Still Believe in Loving You," a montage of scenes follow:
  • Emilio and Oman gets fitted at the tailor
  • Nico and Zossimo sit in the audience during ASAP admiring Dorina's performance
  • Rosamia watches Dorina perform on TV
  • Nico and Oman fit their tailored suits and are happy with the results
  • Nico fusses over the details of the debut preparations
  • Adora, Bencho, and Oman sit in the audience, listening raptly to Dorina's performance
Lavinia has her mallshow at SM and performs "Kaba" by Tootsie Guevarra. The audience is packed with Larry, Libby, and Barbara sitting in the front row applauding her performance. At the end of her show, Lavinia thanks everyone in the audience for attending her anniversary show and says they will be giving away T-shirts.

Dorina completes her song on ASAP and the hosts come out and ask her what her wish is for her birthday. She thanks Jollibee for the cake that they wheel out, and says she hopes her career will continue to be successful.

They then ask her for her message for her fans. Dorina thanks the fans for their applause, their support. She says she can't sing on stage without their help, and she thanks them again.
