Episode 12.1

Adora tells Emilio that it's best if he reveals the whole truth to Dorina, rather than feeding her tidbits, because Adora cannot stand it. Adora asks him how Dorina learned that Emilio has a wife. Emilio tells her that Dorina asked him and she no doubt noticed the ring that he still wears. He assures her he has no plans of betraying Adora or taking Dorina away from her.

Tension continues to build between Lavinia and Barbara, as Lavinia's makes less and less effort to hide her resentment towards her mother.

Emilio asks Dorina what she has told Adora about the dinner the night before. He asks her why Adora is now asking him about his wife. Dorina says she thought Adora was aware that he was married, because she thought that Adora and Emilio were long-time friends. She says she never mentioned who his wife is. She apologizes and he is quick to forgive her.

Lavinia finishes recording a new song in the studio. Larry comes in and tells her he's sure her new album will be an even bigger hit than her previous one, and congratulates her on her choice of songs. She says it's a wonderful feeling to be in charge of her own song selection instead of having to go with Barbara's choices.

She hesitantly asks him if he thinks she can now handle her career on her own, without Barbara. She says that with Larry around, she thinks they can do without her mother. Larry says there really are complications when your mother is also your manager. Lavinia asks if it's possible to do something about it. Larry says yes, but she would have to be prepared for a big fight, and for the possibility that their relationship will be damaged beyond repair.

Dorina enters her dressing room to find Oman dressed up in a shirt and suit jacket. Gary soon arrives also in a suit jacket. When Dorina wonders about their attire, Gary makes up the excuse that he has somewhere else to go afterwards. When Dorina says that Gary's outfit suits him, Oman fishes for a compliment, only to have Dorina tell him she prefers seeing him in his usual, casual look. Gary barely stops himself from laughing.

Minda and Adora are chatting at the restaurant. Minda says she thinks Dorina is still unaware that Emilio is her father, because she still hasn't said anything. She says she thinks Adora should be more worried about the hex that has been laid on her, because the bumps they found still haven't subsided.

Dorina and Emilio go to the restaurant at the end of the day to pick up Adora. While waiting for Adora to come out, Dorina grabs the opportunity to ask Emilio if he had a past relationship with Adora. Emilio is amused and is quick to deny any relationship between them. Dorina says she was wondering why Adora knew nothing about his wife. He tells her that he and Adora knew each other before he was married, so Adora never met his wife. Out of respect for his feelings, Adora doesn't mention his wife because he knows he and his wife parted bitterly.

Dorina tells Emilio she never once saw Rosamia with another man. She thinks that Rosamia still loves him, and asks if Emilio still loves her. He admits that he has never stopped loving his wife, even though he has no plans of doing anything about it.

Rosamia receives a bouquet of roses. At first, she is pleased, until she learns that the flowers are from someone named Emilio.

Angry about the bouquet, Rosamia goes to Dorina's home to confront Emilio, arriving just after Dorina and Adora enter the house and bid him goodbye. Rosamia starts hitting him with the bouquet, but she faints almost immediately from having had too much to drink. Emilio catches her in time.

Lavinia gives Barbara brochures for vacation packages and suggests that Barbara and Rita take some time off and enjoy themselves. Lavinia even offers to pay for everything. Barbara sees through Lavinia's ruse and tells her that she'd rather stay and take care of Lavinia's career... and that it's her intent to keep managing Lavinia's career until her dying day.

Emilio carries an unconscious Rosamia into her home. He lays her on the living room couch and notices the box of memorabilia lying on the coffee table. Almost immediately, he finds the torn photo of Rosamia holding baby Emilia Rose. He also finds the other half of the photo -- his half of the photo. He starts crying as he kisses the photo and returns the two pieces to the box. Unable to stop himself, he kisses Rosamia on her forehead before he leaves.

Bombee urges Emilio to forgive Rosamia and tell her that Dorina is actually her daughter. Emilio disagrees, saying that once the truth is revealed, Dorina's career will be damaged. People will talk about Rosamia's drinking and it's certain that people will discover he's an ex-convict. He says Rosamia has to get her life back on track, and only then will he reveal the truth to her. But he says Dorina should never know.

Bombee says it may not be possible to stop Rosamia from telling Dorina once she knows the truth. It may be better to not saying anything to Rosamia at all.

Lavinia notices the large diamond earrings that Barbara is now wearing and asks if they're made of zirconia. Barbara assures her that they're real diamonds and that they were very expensive. Lavinia is upset that Barbara has bought something so expensive without consulting her. Barbara asks why she has to consult Lavinia when she bought it with her own money. Lavinia says that's money that comes from her own money.

The two women have an angry and heated exchange of words, until Barbara finally punches Lavinia in the stomach as a demonstration of just what she's capable of. As Lavinia falls to the floor, Barbara warns Lavinia not to cross her. She calls Lavinia an ingrate and walks off.

Lavinia is still furious when she walks into Larry's office and tells him she's had enough of Barbara. She says she wants Barbara to have no part of her career or her life. She asks him to make all her checks payable to her.

Emilio finds Dorina at home and asks her if she sent flowers to Rosamia. Dorina says yes and asks if they worked. Emilio tells her Rosamia was furious and asks why she sent the flowers. Dorina says she thinks Emilio is giving up too easily, so she will keep trying to woo Rosamia on his behalf. Emilio asks her to stop and promises that he won't give up.

Unknown to them both, Adora is standing on the second floor landing and has heard their entire conversation.

Episode 11.5

Barbara and Lavinia meet Oscar, who tells them that Dorina is adopted. Lavinia says that information isn't damaging enough -- in fact, if people learned that Dorina is adopted, they will feel sorry for her and it will only improve her standing. She stops Barbara from paying Oscar for the information. She tells him he should come up with something more damaging before he can expect payment.

Oscar is insulted. When Lavinia goes ahead to the car, Oscar warns Barbara that he knows a lot of information about the Arguelles family... so she should warn Lavinia not to anger him. Barbara pacifies him by giving him the money she had originally planned to give him.

Minda and Adora consult a spiritist who confirms their suspicions that a hex has been laid against Adora by Barbara. But it's obvious she's a charlatan who is just preying on their ignorance. Adora eventually realizes what's going on and drives the spiritist away.

At home, Barbara reprimands Lavinia for insulting Oscar, and tells her that she's gaining weight. Lavinia rebels by eating a huge serving of ice cream in the kitchen.

Dorina arranges a rendezvous between Emilio and Rosamia at a restaurant in a nearby hotel. She pleads with Rosamia to at least talk with Emilio. The estranged couple reluctantly sit together at the dinner table, while Dorina goes outside to order a bottle of wine for them. Emilio asks Rosamia if his 17 years in jail for a crime he did not commit is not enough punishment for the way he lost their daughter. Rosamia tells him the only way she can ever forgive him is if he were to find their missing daughter. Emilio tells her she should get her life back in order if she hopes to one day be reunited with Emilia Rose. Rosamia becomes more angry - she tells him her life was destroyed when he lost their daughter.

Rosamia gets up to leave and on her way out, she warns Dorina to stay out of her personal life if Dorina wants to retain their friendship.

Emilio and Dorina talk about the aborted dinner. Emilio asks her not to try anything like that again, and Dorina is all apologetic. Emilio also asks her to not tell Adora about what happened. Dorina agrees.

Oman notices one of his neighbors passing by in a dress shirt and tie, and asks if it's possible for him to borrow those clothes. Meanwhile, Gary is at his bedroom, trying on different shirts to try to get the best look possible.

Barbara finds Rita sitting alone at home, staring out the window. She finally takes pity on her daughter, and tells Rita that she will allow her to return to school, on the condition that Rita always returns directly home afterwards. Rita gratefully hugs Barbara and thanks her profusely.

Lavinia comes down the stairs wearing a backless top, which Barbara finds unacceptable. She orders Lavinia to change, but Lavinia refuses. Lavinia tells Barbara that she's leaving now and that it's up to Barbara whether or not she wants to accompany her. Lavinia walks off.

The next day, Dorina finds Adora drinking bittermelon juice, saying it's ideal for warding off hexes. When Adora asks Dorina about the dinner she went to last night, Dorina evades giving a straight answer.

Later, Adora confronts Emilio about the dinner. She asks if he's planning to renege on his promise... and challenges him to reveal the truth to Dorina right now.

Episode 11.4

Dorina's debut continues. She barely has any time to eat as Nico introduces an endless stream of guests and various parties bid her goodbye as the evening winds to a close.

Barbara tries to convince Rita to spy on Lavinia... to find out what appearances she has and more importantly, how much money Lavinia is making. Rita tells Barbara that she's caught in the middle of Barbara and Lavinia -- a rock and a hard place. And that she's the one who gets hurt in the process. She pleads with Barbara to stop all the conniving.

Dorina finally resorts to hiding in one corner of the hotel to get some peace and quiet. Adora finds her hiding there and Dorina tells her the party isn't as enjoyable as she had imagined it would be, even though it was a great party and she felt like Cinderella in her gown. She says she didn't eat well because she's not used to the food that was served. Adora sympathizes, and as she asks where Emilio is, she comes up with an idea that is guaranteed to cheer up her daughter.

Rosamia is back at home and still grieving the loss of her daughter Emilia Rose. We see flashbacks of scenes leading up to her first encounter with Emilio at the debut as Rosamia curls up in bed crying.

Adora, Dorina, Emilio, and Bencho escape to a nearby Jollibee store to enjoy a meal. While they are there, a number of street kids crowd around the windows, happy to see their idol, Dorina. Dorina reminisces about the old days when she and Adora would be just like the kids, eager for a glimpse of their idol. She talks about the things she would do just to see Rosamia. Dorina tells Adora she never realized how pitiful they looked.

After a moment of staring at the kids, Dorina asks Adora for money, and in the next scene, we see the street kids all sitting at the table with them, eating their own Jollibee meals.

The next day, Rosamia visits Dorina at her home to present her with a birthday gift. She tells Dorina that she has learned so much from her, that Dorina has restored her faith in the goodness of people.

Barbara and Lavinia prepare to meet Oscar. Barbara asks Rita if she'd like to come with them, but Rita says no... she's no longer involved in anything related to Lavinia's career. Barbara admits that they are being aggressive with Lavinia's career, but that's only because they are at a critical point. She says that once this crisis has passed, they can all be more relaxed.

Rita tells Barbara she thinks that time won't ever come. Back when Lavinia was starting out, they had to work hard so she could establish herself. When she became popular, they had to work hard so the fans would stay loyal. Now that Lavinia is on top, they have to work even harder still, just so she doesn't lose her place on top. So when will they actually feel it's safe to stop and finally relax? Barbara has no answer.

Before Rosamia leaves, Emilio enters and the estranged come face to face once again. Rosamia asks Dorina what Emilio is doing there and Dorina reveals that Emilio is her driver and bodyguard. Dorina asks if they know each other, and Rosamia merely makes her excuses and leaves.

Oman notices the old chessmaster once again outside the church. The two are happy to see each other once again. The old man explains that he prefers to be back in the city because he can at least visit the places he and his wife used to go to together.

Oman reveals that he has not made any headway with Dorina. He says the situation has changed, that Dorina's circumstances have changed, while he's still exactly the way he was. The old man tells him that love does not choose time or bank accounts. It just happens. Oman says he still doesn't know if Dorina loves him. The old man tells him that as long as he does not act, the gap between them will only grow larger. He urges Oman to confess his true feelings.

Dorina realizes there's more to this than she knows and she asks Emilio just what his relationship is with Rosamia. He says he has no relationship with Rosamia. Left with no choice, Dorina tells Emilio she needs him to drive her somewhere.

Oman borrows a guitar from a neighbor and resumes practicing on his own.

Now in the car, Dorina asks Emilio to drive her to Rosamia's home.

Adora brags to her neighbors and customers about how beautiful Dorina was at her debut. Minda notices that she seems to be in pain and asks what's wrong. Adora complains about a pain on her right upper arm. Minda checks and tells her there appears to be another mass or bump.

Adora wonders why she's getting pimples and blames the new laundry soap she's using. Minda tells her the bump seems too large to be a pimple. Adora says maybe it's time she should consult a dermatologist, since she's under a lot of stress right now because of Barbara. She asks Minda if it's possible that Barbara has placed a hex on her.

Rosamia greets Dorina at the gate but glares at Emilio. When Dorina asks her point blank just what is going on between her and Emilio, Rosamia reveals that Emilio is the good-for-nothing husband who lost her baby Emilia Rose.

Episode 11.3

Dorina ends her ASAP guesting by thanking everyone who has supported her -- her bandmates, Nico and Zossimo (Zoni), Rosamia, Oman, Bencho, Adora, and her fans. Rosamia watches her on TV and is moved when Dorina mentions her.

Dorina's debut is a beautiful, lavish affair. Her 18 roses include Emilio, Gary, Oman, Jack, Chris, Jay, and Nico.

Lavinia watches press coverage of Dorina's debut and sees that Nico is her escort. Barbara enters the bedroom just then, and understands why Lavinia is upset enough to throw a pillow at the TV. She tries to comfort Lavinia.

Dorina is greeting guests and fans when Rosamia arrives. Unknown to Rosamia, Emilio sees her.

Rita enters Lavinia's bedroom with the phone saying it's Larry. Lavinia is still depressed by Dorina's debut and she's not interested in talking to him, so Rita tells him that Lavinia is asleep.

After hanging up, Rita asks Lavinia why Dorina's debut disturbs her so much. Lavinia says that celebrities and fans alike will be there to greet Dorina, to wait for her. Dorina is so well-loved. Lavinia says she never felt that. She may be admired, imitated, envied... but she's not loved.

Rita reminds her that Dorina loved her, but this is no comfort to Lavinia. She asks why this is all happening to her. Rita says that sometimes she's flying so high that she forgets she doesn't have wings and needs to land on the ground to rest. Sometimes, it's necessary for her to be broken so that she has a chance to be made whole again.

Lavinia angrily asks her if she's implying that she's now a has-been. She says she will not accept it. She can lose it all as long as she stays on top. Rita warns her to be careful what she wishes for because she may just get it.... and die of loneliness at the top.

Dorina sees Rosamia and excitedly thanks her for coming. She leads Rosamia to Adora and Nico. They thank her for coming. Rosamia says she heard Dorina on TV and appreciated the way Dorina thanked everyone who supported her. She says it's inevitable that people love her, in the same way that she, Rosamia, loves her. Emilio cannot help but smile as he watches Rosamia and Dorina hug each other.

The party is in full swing. Emilio spends most of the evening avoiding Rosamia. Although she is at the party, Rosamia is not quite able to stop herself from drinking glass after glass of wine, because it is the anniversary of the day she lost Emilia Rose.

At one point, the stress of being in the same room as Rosamia proves to be too much for Emilio, and he leaves the ballroom to smoke a cigarette.

Rosamia is not able to stand the pain of watching Adora's motherly fussing over Dorina. She makes her excuses and says her goodbyes. Dorina notices that Rosamia is a bit inebriated, and she offers to have Mang Emilio drive Rosamia home. Rosamia insists that she can manage on her own and leaves the ballroom. Dorina watches her go with concern.

Outside the ballroom, Rosamia is making her way unsteadily across the foyer, when Dorina runs out calling her name. She also calls for Mang Emilio. At the sound of their names, Emilio and Rosamia turn and finally come face to face, to their mutual shock. Dorina notices the way they seem to recognize each other.

Rosamia angrily asks Emilio what he is doing there. Before Emilio can answer, Dorina asks if they know each other. Rosamia realizes that Dorina is there, says no, and turns to leave.

Episode 11.2

Gary and Oman fight, but they end up tiring each other out and stop.

Zossimo says that Larry looked ready to punch Nico in the face after their merger talks went nowhere. Nico says this can only mean one thing... things are looking bad for LaCalma, and Zoni is moving into the #1 position, and Larry feels he's no longer in control. The two business partners congratulate each other.

Larry holds a staff meeting at LaCalma and complains that Lavinia's songs are not getting enough air time. Libby says not all the stations accept payolas. Larry says he doesn't care. He wants Lavinia to be the most requested artist by the end of the week.

He also castigates a staffer for her inability to renew Lavinia's contract with Diva Perfumes. When they are unable to get the results he wants, he calls them all incompetent and throws them out of his office.

Lavinia and Nico bump into each other at one of the studios in ABS-CBN. Lavinia tries to ignore him but Nico calls after her. He expresses concern for her career. He says she should leave LaCalma if she wants a long-term career. She mocks his words. He says that whether she believes it or not, he is concerned about her achievements. He says he doesn't want all that to lead to nothing. He tells her it's best for her if she has Larry release her from her contract.

Gary apologizes to Oman for starting the fight. Oman admits he shouldn't have deliberately misled Dorina about Gary and apologizes as well. Gary says at least he now has proof that Oman is in love with Dorina also. Oman doesn't deny it. Gary extends his hand to Oman and says "May the best man win." He pulls his hand back at the last minute as Oman reaches to take it. But he's quick to show that he's just joking, and the two guys shake hands.

Lavinia tells Nico he's crazy if he thinks she'll believe him. She tells him that Larry assures her that her sales are unequalled and that she's still in demand with all the producers and advertizers. Nico tells her that's not true, because if it were, Larry would never offer to merge LaCalma with Zoni. Lavinia is shocked by this news.

Nico tells her Larry is desperate and that they're on the way down. Lavinia calls him a liar. Nico advises her to ask Larry. He says it doesn't matter to him which artist is on top because there's room for both Dorina and Lavinia in the industry. Which is why he thinks it's best for her if she were to leave LaCalma. He says he's just concerned for her.

Lavinia doesn't believe him and asks if he's truly concerned... especially for a monster (like her)? She tells him that "this monster is still breathing fire." Unlike him, she can keep fighting. And she's used to being alone at the top. She won't let some nobody take that away from her.

At D'Adorables Restaurant, Nico tells the Pineda family that the hotel has been booked for Dorina's party. He also reminds her that she has to go to the designer tomorrow for the fitting of her gown. He says he wants to be sure that all the details are ironed out. He says he has already invited her bandmates, their former neighbors, and the presidents of her fan clubs. Dorina says she has someone else in mind but she would like to extend the invitation herself. He gives her a blank invitation to use.

He also asks her if she already has an escort. The ladies look at each other but don't answer. He says if she doesn't have enough male friends to complete her 18 roses, she should let him know and he can take care of it. He also says that the first dance is usually with her father. Dorina says she doesn't have one. Nico then asks if she has a close uncle or godfather, or any father figure. While Dorina looks blank, Adora suggests Emilio. Dorina likes the idea and immediately asks Emilio if it would be okay with him. Emilio is surprised but he agrees right away and is grateful to Adora.

Lavinia goes to see Larry and asks if it's true that they're losing to Zoni. Larry denies it. He asks her why she would believe Nico? She then asks why he proposed a merger with Zoni. He says he was just bluffing to lull Nico into a false sense of security. He says it's all part of his plan. It's not clear whether or not Lavinia believes him.

Gary and Oman arrive at the same time in front of D'Adorables Restaurant. They see each other and immediately race in to see Dorina. When Dorina greets them, the two guys indulge in bit verbal swordsplay but Dorina just laughs at their antics.

Dorina then asks for their help, saying she needs an escort. Gary and Oman both volunteer. She tells them she actually has someone in mind but she's afraid to ask that person. Oman thinks she means him, and says she should just ask straight out because he's sure the person will say yes. Smiling and almost giddy, Dorina says she thinks this man is the perfect prince charming for her, because he's a gentleman and kind. Gary, thinking she means him, tells her she's sure that person will not turn her down. She then drops the bombshell: she asks them how she can ask Nico to be her escort?

Libby enters Larry's office and says Dorina's debut is now around the corner and it's sure to drum up some publicity for her. Larry says they should match it with their own celebration -- perhaps Lavinia's anniversary in showbiz. Lavinia tells him she started in January. He says no one will know anyway, and that they should time it with her CD going double-platinum.

Lavinia looks worried. She says Dorina's event is just days away. She doesn't think that her CD sales will be double-platinum by then. Larry instructs Libby to buy all of Lavinia's CDs, but to do it in such a way that no one in the press finds out. Lavinia tells him she's bothered by this tactic. She asks him if this means she can't get the sales on her own. He assures her that she can but since they're racing against time, this is necessary.

Gary and Oman are dejected at Dorina's choice of escort. As they leave D'Adorables Restaurant together, Oman says he thought he only had Gary as a rival, and that he's no match for Nico. Gary, on the other hand, says he's not afraid. He may not be as rich but he's educated, well-mannered, and earns enough to take care of Dorina. He's confident he can beat Nico. Smiling, he drives off in his vehicle, leaving Oman on the street in front of the restaurant with only his insecurities to keep him company.

Dorina invites Rosamia to her debut, practically begging her to go because Rosamia doesn't want to go. Rosamia says that the day of Dorina's birthday is the same day that she lost her daughter. She asks for Dorina's understanding, and Dorina says yes. However, she says she hopes Rosamia will change her mind. She leaves her invitation on Rosamia's piano.

Barbara enters Lavinia's bedroom to inform her that ASAP can't accomodate her showbiz anniversary celebration on ASAP because three gaps are already devoted to Dorina's debut. Lavinia finds this news difficult to accept. She asks Barbara to use her many connections to make it possible for her to guest on TV, even if it means Lavinia will guest at another station.

Barbara expresses mock surprise at being asked to help. She reminds Lavinia that she once said Larry can handle everything. Lavinia asks Barbara not to give her a hard time now, especially since she's in such difficult circumstances. Barbara asks her if this means she is needed once again? Wisely, Lavinia says she always needs her mother. Barbara is pleased at this victory and promises to help Lavinia. But she says it's too late for TV guestings. Lavinia will have to settle for a Fans' Day.

At Zonis office, Nico reminds Dorina of her gown fitting and advises Dorina to have Adora and Bencho accompany her. He also asks her to have Emilio and Oman go to the tailor. He then asks her who she chose to have as her date -- Oman or Gary? Dorina says she didn't choose either of them. She hesitantly asks him if he would be her escort. He asks why him? She replies that all this is possible because of him, that without him she would still be selling flowers on the street. She says he's a big part of her life, and she hopes he would be her escort. Smiling, Nico rises from behind his desk and with an almost formal air tells her it would be an honor. Dorina is all smiles as she thanks him.

Dorina appears on ASAP to celebrate her birthday. As she sings "I Still Believe in Loving You," a montage of scenes follow:
  • Emilio and Oman gets fitted at the tailor
  • Nico and Zossimo sit in the audience during ASAP admiring Dorina's performance
  • Rosamia watches Dorina perform on TV
  • Nico and Oman fit their tailored suits and are happy with the results
  • Nico fusses over the details of the debut preparations
  • Adora, Bencho, and Oman sit in the audience, listening raptly to Dorina's performance
Lavinia has her mallshow at SM and performs "Kaba" by Tootsie Guevarra. The audience is packed with Larry, Libby, and Barbara sitting in the front row applauding her performance. At the end of her show, Lavinia thanks everyone in the audience for attending her anniversary show and says they will be giving away T-shirts.

Dorina completes her song on ASAP and the hosts come out and ask her what her wish is for her birthday. She thanks Jollibee for the cake that they wheel out, and says she hopes her career will continue to be successful.

They then ask her for her message for her fans. Dorina thanks the fans for their applause, their support. She says she can't sing on stage without their help, and she thanks them again.

Episode 11.1

Bombee marvels at the way fate has brought Emilio, Rosamia, and Dorina together. He credits God for allowing the paths of the Suarez family to cross once again. Emilio scoffs at the notion of the three of them as a family, saying that with an ex-con father and an alcoholic mother, Emilia Rose's parents can only bring her misery.

Bombee asks if Emilio intends to tell Adora just who Rosamia is, and Emilio firmly says no. He says Rosamia is Adora's idol. He doesn't want her to deal with the emotional burden of having to decide whether or not to continue hiding the truth.

It's morning at the Pineda home, and without maids to help them, the family is hard at work cleaning the house. Dorina asks Adora to take it easy; she is worried Adora will have another dizzy spell. Adora asks how she heard about her first one, and quickly realizes that Emilio must have told Dorina. Adora asks about the bump on the back of her shoulder, and once again, Adora dismisses it as a leftover injury from her encounter with Barbara.

Adora quickly changes the subject and asks Dorina how they will celebrate her birthday. Adora toys with the idea of throwing a big party, but Dorina says it's better if they just bring pancit in for everyone. Adora agrees, saying her pancit is particularly good anyway.

Oman and Gary play basketball. Gary asks for advice on how best to court Dorina, and Oman says Gary should ignore Dorina, not be a gentleman, and not be sweet. He should wait and hold off until Oman has had a chance to influence Dorina's impression of Gary. Gary is grateful.

Later that day, Oman is visiting Dorina and he says that he and Gary are bonding, that they even played basketball together. When Dorina says the two of them seem to be getting along, Oman agrees, but says he finds Gary weird. Lying, he tells Dorina that Gary ran over a cat earlier, and that he actually took pleasure in doing it. He softens the statement by saying that's just his impression and that he's not sure, but his ploy has worked. Dorina is disturbed.

Lavinia is watching an interview of herself on TV when Barbara enters. Barbara is shocked to see that Lavinia had been on an interview that she knew completely nothing about. Lavinia says Larry arranged it and that she accepted it. When Barbara demands to know when this was arranged, Lavinia patronizingly tells her not to worry, that she'll still get her percentage of the talent fee. Insulted, Barbara angrily asks her who taught her to behave in this way. Lavinia smiles with false sweetness and answers -- who else, but you? Then she walks out of the room.

At Zoni's office, Nico tells Dorina that he and Zossimo are preparing for her birthday. He's even told Gary not to work Dorina too hard so she's always beautiful and fresh. When Dorina asks what his plans are for her birthday, Nico smilingly answers -- you're turning 18, aren't you? I'm throwing you a debut.

Barbara confronts Lavinia about her behavior. She starts crying as she asks how they can treat her this way, dismiss her as if she's nothing and nobody after she has done so much. She taught Lavinia how to sing, she curried favor with all the producers when Lavinia was nobody, and now Lavinia is just throwing it all away as if it's nothing?!

Lavinia appears to be moved by Barbara's words and tears, but at the last minute, she compliments her mother on her acting, saying it's worthy of a best actress award. She even applauds Barbara's performance. Barbara is shocked once again into silence. Lavinia turns and leaves.

Libby informs Larry that Dorina's sales figures have caught up with Lavinia's. Focus group studies reveal that Dorina has more fans. Advertisers are not as interested in Lavinia anymore. She tells Larry that the P3 million they've allocated for Lavinia's publicity is almost gone. And Dorina continues to get stronger.

Larry is silent for a moment, then he resolutely sits down, picks up the phone and calls someone to say: This is Larry Calma. Tell your boss I need to talk to him. There is much I need to discuss with Nico Escobar.

At Zoni's office, Nico's secretary tells Nico that Larry didn't say what he wanted to discuss, but he insisted that they meet today. Nico tells her to just give Larry his free schedule for the day, and if Larry can't make it, then sorry.

Oman advises Gary to buy Dorina a gift, now that he's had a chance to prep Dorina. Gary is excited and thanks Oman again.

Larry arrives for his appointment with Nico and Zossimo. The three men greet each other with false civility before sitting down to talk. Larry tries to frame the meeting as a meeting between long-time friends. He says they've been through so much together both good and bad, and he says he doesn't want their competition to ruin their friendships.

Nico agrees, although it's obvious he doesn't really care. He also asks Zossimo for his take on the situation, and Zossimo is quick to say he harbors no ill feelings towards Larry, after all -- Larry firing him was probably the best thing that ever happened to him.

Nico thanks Larry for coming, and stands up as if to end the meeting, forcing Larry to reveal his real purpose for visiting -- Larry proposes that they merge LaCalma and Zoni to form the largest and strongest recording company in the country, maybe even in southeast Asia. Nico and Zossimo are both surprised by this turn of events, but after some thought, Nico tells Larry that he prefers the way things are right now.

Larry pulls the friendship card and says that he's doing this to restore their friendship. Nico calls his bluff and tells him he's doing this because he's panicking and he's doing this to eliminate his company's biggest rival. Larry denies this. He says both companies are strong, but they are expending their respective resources by competing against each other. If the two companies merge, the resulting company will be stronger and they both stand to make more money. He tells Nico to look at this as a business opportunity.

Nico agrees to the merger but on one condition... Larry has to drop Lavinia. Dorina Pineda will be the main artist of the merged company.

While waiting at the rehearsal room, Dorina asks for Chris' help to look for a great guitar for Oman, just as Gary arrives. Chris takes the cue and leaves the two of them alone in the rehearsal room. Gary presents Dorina with a gift. Dorina is surprised but she accepts the gift and unwraps it to reveal a stuffed cat. She is disturbed. Warily, she asks Gary - Why a cat? Gary says he likes cats and that you can even hang this particular stuffed cat up in the car -- although it does look like it's been killed by hanging if you do that. Dorina is disgusted and starts hitting Gary with the cat, asking him how he can so bad!

Larry says he can't drop Lavinia because she's still under contract with LaCalma. Nico says Lavinia is a deal breaker, because she has no part to play in his company. As long as Lavinia is still there, there can be no merger.

Larry realizes he's been cornered. He reminds Nico that he was the one who came to Zoni's office to patch things up between them. He tells Nico that he's making the wrong decision and that he will regret it. Larry leaves.

Gary finally stops Dorina from hitting him by grabbing the cat and throwing it across the room. Dorina tells him he's disgusting and asks him what he has against cats that he would purposefully run over them on the street. Gary is shocked and denies doing such a thing -- and he eventually realizes that Oman has set him up. Dorina is just as upset when Gary tells her this. She quickly apologizes to Gary, who by now is furious.

Larry gets into the elevator at the building of Zoni's office. When the doors close, he is unable to contain his anger and resorts to punching the elevator doors. His knows his plan has failed.

Gary pulls up in front of Oman's home and heads straight towards Oman to punch him in the face. The two guys start fighting and the neighbors gather around to watch them go at each other.

Episode 10.5

Adora dismisses the large bump on the back of her shoulder as a leftover injury from her encounter with Barbara. Minda tells her that was weeks ago, but Adora still dismisses her friend's concern.

Bencho catches Oman rehearsing how best to confess his feelings for Dorina, complete with a simple bouquet of flowers. Dorina appears at the door just then, surprising them both. Oman tells her he was only there to apologize to her for his behavior. She accepts his apology but warns him the next time he picks a fight with her for no reason, she's going to make him eat his flowers.

Oman offers to accompany Dorina to her voice lessons. Gary arrives and asks to accompany Dorina as well. The two guys eye each other but both say nothing.

Emilio drives them to Rosamia's home. Emilio notices that Dorina has left her cellphone in the car, and knocks at the gate to bring her cellphone in. Oman lets him in and Emilio also asks if it's possible for him to get something to drink. While returning his empty glass to Oman half-way up the stairs, Emilio turns and sees that Dorina's voice coach is none other than Rosamia! He is so disturbed by this turn of events that he rushes back outside. But he cannot stop himself from looking up at the window to catch a glimpse of Rosamia.

At the Arguelles home, Barbara complains that Libby has added a concert in Cebu to Lavinia's schedule even though she had it removed. Lavinia tells her that she instructed Libby to add it back because they pay well. Barbara asks her when she suddenly became interested in money. Lavinia answers -- since you started getting all my money. Barbara is upset but Lavinia simply ignores her mother and walks off to go shopping.

Gary and Oman pass the time at Rosamia's by chatting. Gary asks Oman if he is interested in cars. Oman simply plays along because he can't quite bring himself to admit that he doesn't know anything about cars.

Later that evening, Jack returns to the Arguelles home and starts throwing pebbles into the yard and calling Rita's name, just as Rita happens to be walking around the garden. She recognizes his voice and approaches the gate to ask him why he came back. He tells her she never showed up at school, where he was expecting he'd get a chance to talk to her. She pleads with him to leave, saying that she never wants to see him again, but Jack says he doesn't believe her. He insists that she has to say it to his face.

Rita asks him why he's doing this, why he's making things so hard for her. Jack responds that he is also having a hard time being away from her. He reaches through an opening in the gate and holds her hand as he confesses that he loves her.

On the way back home from Rosamia's house, Gary invites Oman to join him for a game of basketball. Oman is not interested. Gary keeps trying to find some common ground with Oman, and finally he advises Oman to try getting some guitar lessons from their bandmate Chris; once he has learned enough he can join the band. Oman apologizes for his poor behavior by saying he has a headache.

Emilio drives past Dorina's house without noticing until Dorina stops him. He excuses himself by saying he was probably distracted because he's hungry. Dorina invites him to join them for dinner before going home, but Emilio says he would prefer to leave right away, assuming it was alright with her. Dorina says yes.

Rita snatches her hand away from Jack, telling him that he shouldn't have said that he loves her. When he asks her why, she tearfully says she doesn't want to hope or expect that they can have any kind of future together, because it will only make things harder for her. Almost afraid to hope, Jack asks if this means that she also loves him.

Before Rita can answer, Barbara starts calling for Rita from inside the house. Rita pleads with him to leave, but Jack says he won't leave until she promises to see him and talk to him the next day. Left with no choice, she agrees and he leaves, saying he'll be waiting. Quietly, she responds that she'll be waiting as well.

Gary drives Oman home in his own car. Before Oman can alight from the car, Gary asks to talk to Oman. He just wants to confirm that Oman is really not courting Dorina, that he's only a friend. Gary asks for Oman's help and advice to help him in his own courtship of Dorina. Oman agrees to help Gary, but what Gary doesn't know is Oman has no intention of really helping his rival.

Later that night, Dorina has trouble sleeping and while turning in bed, she notices the mass on the back of Adora's shoulder. She also does not know what to make of it, but it is obvious she is concerned.

Emilio walks home in a daze, remembering happier times with Rosamia, and their very short time together with baby Emilia Rose. He recalls how he finally found Dorina, and Dorina's kindness towards him, as well as their moment of bonding together. Then he recalls the shock of finding out that Rosamia is Dorina's voice coach. He is obviously disturbed by all that has happened.

Later that night, Emilio returns to Rosamia's home using the taxi. Outside, he looks up into the second floor window and sees Rosamia sitting there alone, drinking a few hard drinks. What he doesn't know is that Rosamia is looking at their family photo with baby Emilia Rose, and that it is her sorrow over her lost family that is driving her to drink.

Episode 10.4

Lavinia is drinking heavily in the now empty living room when Larry comes in and says all the guests have left and she can now rest. Lavinia scoffs at his words, asking him what it means to relax. She says she's been working since she was 12 years old, and even now, day in and day out she's still working. Resting is simply not in her vocabulary.

Larry stops her from drinking more. She collapses against him on the couch and asks him to just stay with her.

Emilio shares with Adora how he felt all those years in jail waiting for a chance to be reunited with his daughter again. Now that his dreams have come true and he has found Emilia Rose, he can't even tell her the truth. He can't even hold her or hug her. He can't even tell her how much he loves her.

Adora tells him that they're truly in a difficult situation. She even says she thinks they are betraying Dorina by not telling her the truth.

Emilio calms down and tells Adora that they're doing this for Dorina, for her future. Adora asks him if he has no plans of telling Dorina the truth. He says he's unsure, but he promises that he will never take Dorina from Adora even if he were to tell Dorina that he is her father. He says that Adora is important to Dorina so this means that Adora is important to him as well.

Unknown to them both, Dorina is standing in the kitchen watching them talk.

Larry tells Lavinia she'll be more comfortable in bed. Lavinia tells him she's exhausted. Larry tells her he'll take care of everything for her, that he'll give her control over her schedule. If there's a show that she doesn't want to do, he just tell Barbara the producer backed out so there will be no problem with Barbara.

Lavinia tells him she's so thankful that Larry is not interested only in money. Larry offers to let her take some time off. Lavinia is thankful. As she cries, she tells him he's the only one who has any concern for her. He responds by quietly telling her he loves her.

At the dinner table, Dorina asks Adora and Emilio about their intense discussion earlier. Adora says they were just reminiscing about old times and Emilio agrees. Bencho comments that lately Adora seems happy. Dorina also remarks that Adora is more relaxed lately.

Dorina then asks Adora if she would be open to tagging along with her guestings, remarking tongue-in-cheek that her past relationship with Emilio shouldn't be a hindrance. Emilio chokes on his food, and Adora laughs as she denies there being anything between her and Emilio.

Dorina asks why not, after all, it's possible for something to develop between best friends. Emilio counters by asking her if that means it's possible for something to develop between her and Oman. Dorina laughs and asks how she suddenly became the topic of discussion. Adora agrees that it's possible Oman has feelings for Dorina. Dorina, still laughing, changes the subject.

Lavinia has finally fallen asleep on the couch. Larry kisses her gently on the forehead.

Dorina visits Oman the next day and finds him in bed asleep. She wakes him and says she doesn't have to work today and invites him to go out so they can have some fun together. She also asks about his broken guitar. Oman says the guitar fell. He asks her to leave because he's not dressed.

Dorina continues to urge him to go out with her. Oman testily says he can't go out with her because he still needs to sell flowers and make a living. Oman tells her that she's so stupid sometimes, because she doesn't remember that he's not rich like her and that he still needs to make a living. Just because she's now rich and living in a nice house, she's forgotten where she's come from.

Dorina is hurt. She angrily asks him why this is an issue again when she thought he was over this. He apologizes and says that there's really nothing wrong. She demands to know what's really bothering him because there's obviously more to this than what he has said. Oman stays silent. Dorina gives up and leaves.

In the car, Dorina is depressed after her argument with Oman, and Emilio notices. He pulls the car over as she starts crying, and goes around to her side of the car to give her a hug.

Larry and Lavinia meet at his office and he gives her a copy of her new schedule, asking for her approval. She reviews it then says yes. He tells her he'll give a copy to Barbara later for her "official" approval.

He then asks how she is feeling now. Lavinia says she's okay now and thanks him for his help the night before. He asks her if she remembered anything from their conversation and she says no. When she asks if there was anything that she should remember, Larry dismisses it and merely says it was nothing important.

Oman tries to piece together the shattered remains of his guitar, but it looks hopeless. He grows frustrated as he remembers his conversation with Dorina -- where he tells her that she's now unreachable and famous, and that he feels small next to her. With regret, he also remembers the way he treated her when she came to visit him earlier that day.

Dorina and Emilio chat as they sit together on a park bench. She reveals that she and Oman used to argue all the time but it was never like this, because this time Oman said such painful things to her.

Emilio tells her Oman is merely insecure because their standing in life used to be the same but now it's all different. Dorina has money and new friends... Oman no doubt feels that he's been left behind.

Emilio says he used to feel that way himself before with his former wife. Dorina becomes curious at this information, and asks if he also has children. Emilio says yes, but not anymore.

He then changes the subject and says he hopes what he explained just now helps her. Dorina says it does and that she understands Oman better now. She says it's sometimes hard to understand men -- especially since they're all women in her home.

Emilio then asks her if she's ever had a hard time not having a father? Dorina says she's never revealed this to Adora, but she used to have daydreams where a couple will approach her and reveal to her that they are her real parents and that they'll be reunited once again.

Emilio is smiling at this, until Dorina tells him that all this is now in the past, and that now she loves Adora and Adora is both mother and father to her.

Emilio agrees and says Dorina has indeed been lucky to have Adora raise her. Inadvertently, he refers to Dorina as his child, calling her 'anak'

Dorina questioningly asks -- 'anak?' Emilio realizes his slip, and quickly apologizes. Dorina says it's alright, that she was just surprised because no man has ever called her 'anak'. She says it's actually nice, because it feels like she has a father now. She thanks him and hugs him. Emilio is overcome with emotion as he hugs her back.

Jay, Chris, and Jack are outside Rita's house. Jay and Chris trying to push Jack up so he can reach the top of the wall. They make an awkward human pyramid as Jay loses his balance, leaving Jack hanging onto the wall with his feet dangling in the air.

Nico is at the Pineda home to talk about Dorina's birthday. Emilio overhears and says her birthday has passed. Adora quickly corrects him and says it's not for another two weeks.

Nico says the timing is perfect -- they can celebrate Dorina's birthday on ASAP, together with her fans and supporters. Dorina and Adora agree.

Adora goes to the kitchen to get Nico a drink and Emilio rushes in to tell Adora that Dorina's birthday passed more than a month ago. Adora explains that she never knew Dorina's real birthday so she considers the day she got Dorina as Dorina's birthday. She tells him the actual date isn't important, as long as they celebrate her birthday. Emilio agrees.

Just then, Adora suddenly feels dizzy. Emilio sits her down and admonishes her to let him take care of the heavier chores in the future since he's used to it. Adora says she'll be fine. She asks Emilio to bring the drink out to Nico.

Jack is finally up on the wall, calling for Rita. She appears on the balcony, her left hand wrapped in a bandage. She's shocked to see Jack there.

Jack says he had to come because he can't reach her anymore. Rita reveals that her phone is with her mother, and that Barbara is just in the living room! She pleads with them to leave before Barbara catches them.

Jack says he won't leave until they've had a chacne to talk. Jay asks Rita to talk to Jack so they can finally leave. Afraid of getting caught, Rita finally agrees to talk to Jack in school. Jack is thrilled and almost falls off the wall.

Adora and Minda are at the restaurant cleaning up and chatting. Adora says they should probably get a place near ABS so when Dorina has guestings, she can still pop in for a visit. Minda likes the idea.

When Adora starts rubbing her shoulder, Minda notices and asks her what's wrong. Adora says she feels something. Minda peels back Adora's blouse to find a large mass just below her left shoulder. She gets a mirror so Adora can see for herself. They are both surprised and do not know what it means.

Episode 10.3

At the breakfast table, Dorina insists that Emilio call her by her first name. Emilio is touched, and says the things that he's been reading in the papers are true -- that Dorina is truly kind. He says her mother raised her well.

At his words, Adora hides her face in her hands. When Dorina asks what's wrong, Adora claims she was touched by what Emilio said. But when Dorina isn't watching, Adora glares at Emilio.

Later, as Adora washes up the dishes from breakfast, she confronts Emilio about his plans. She asks why he didn't tell Dorina the truth. Emilio says Dorina's already famous. Her image and her career will be damaged if people learn her father is an ex-con. Adora says -- so that's your game. You intend to blackmail us in exchange for your silence!

Angrily, Emilio tells her he's not that kind of person. He says -- I want you know that I'm not a criminal. I was falsely accused that's why I went to jail. I'm still Emilia Rose's father -- I have never wanted anything but her happiness!

Adora is touched by what he said. Hesitantly, she asks if this means he will not take Dorina away from her. Emilio says Adora is the only mother Dorina knows, and it is obvious that Dorina loves her. That can only mean that Adora loves her as well. He says he is so thankful that he handed Emilia Rose to Adora that night 17 years ago. He thanks her for taking such good care of his daughter, for having been there to make up for all his shortcomings. Adora is touched.

Later, Dorina is mobbed by fans and Emilio tries to keep them away. Dorina stops him, telling him it's alright and he apologizes.

Libby enters Larry's office to tell him that Dorina has two more product endorsements lined up. Larry tells her not to tell Lavinia. Libby tells him that Dorina will soon surpass Lavinia. She's too talented and her fans are too loyal. Larry tells her he'll release P3 million in a promo, and they'll see how easily Dorina's fans will defect. Libby tries to protest, by reminding him that's what they normally spend on three talents. Larry tells her to just do it.

After the fans have left, Dorina asks Emilio to not do that again next time with fans. She says she used to be a fan herself, so she knows what it's like when people try to stop them from seeing their idol. She also says she owes her success to her fans. Emilio says he could see that she was getting hurt. She doesn't deny it, but she excuses it by saying that it took a while for her to come out, so the fans were probably just over-excited when they finally saw her. He tells her that she's really considerate towards her fans.

Just then, Nico and Zossimo appear outside of Zoni's office, and Dorina introduces them to Emilio. Nico tells her that a new product wants to get her as an endorser.

Dorina starts recording another song. As the song plays, we see a montage of scenes:
  • Dorina's album is released and fans appear in record stores to buy her album.
  • Dorina signs a new contract for a cosmetics company
  • Rosamia prepares a meal in anticipation for one of Dorina's voice lessons, but Dorina doesn't come.
  • Oman puts up a Zoni poster of Dorina on one of the walls of his dorm as he continues to practice his guitar.
Lavinia appears on ASAP singing "Dito Ba?" as Barbara and Rita cheer her on in the audience. Rita's hand is no longer bandaged. As the song continues to play, we see these scenes:
  • Lavinia's performance in ASAP is wildly applauded by the audience
  • Lavinia's new album is released, and fans flock to record stores to buy their own copy.
  • Eventually, both Dorina's and Lavinia's records are sold out.
In Larry's office, Lavinia is furious and worried because Dorina is fast catching up with her. Larry assures her that he'll take care of it.

Oman demonstrates to Dorina how much he's learned playing the guitar. Dorina tells him she'll talk to Gary about Oman joining the band. He is excited.

Barbara meets Oscar and asks him to print another smear article against Dorina. She says it has to be a big scandal. She offers to double her payment if he prints something before the end of the week.

Dorina talks to Gary about Oman joining the band, but Gary says he thinks Oman is not quite ready. He says it's not just a question of learning and memorizing the chords. He says that the person also has to be able to play it by ear -- and that this is something that can't be taught or learned. You either have it or you don't, and Oman doesn't have it.

Unknown to Dorina, Oman overhears all this. She encounters him in the hallway when she goes to the restroom. Before she can break the bad news to him, he tells her that he has had second thoughts about joining the band, that he has changed his mind. He quickly says his goodbyes and leaves.

Back in the dorm, Oman looks at a photo of Dorina and band and cries silently. In anguish, he destroys his guitar by smashing it against the bedposts. As he sits on the floor, he hugs the photo, still crying.

Emilio and Dorina arrive in the van in front of Rosamia's home. Rosamia opens the gate and congratulates Dorina for having reached platinum in her album sales. Emilio is already back inside the van reading a tabloid, so he doesn't notice Rosamia.

After her session with Rosamia, Emilio's view of Rosamia is blocked by Dorina, so once again, he doesn't see her.

Back home, Dorina finds Adora doing the accounting for her restaurant. She says they've already recovered their original investment in the restaurant, and that she and Minda are even thinking of opening a branch!

Dorina congratulates her and says that things are really going well for them both. Adora agrees and says the best part of all is they haven't had to deal with Lavinia or Barbara -- "the mother-daughter demoñita team."

Emilio enters just then with new boxes and packages, apparently clothes and shoes from Dorina's sponsors. Adora offers to show Emilio Dorina's bedroom so they can put away the new items.

Lavinia has thrown a party at her home for players in the industry. She puts Larry together with a lady who owns a production outfit to talk business. Lavinia then goes to talk to another couple, and they ask her what it's like to be the #1 singer and endorser. Another man overhears and disagrees with their statement. He says Dorina Pineda is now the #1 singer and endorser according to the latest survey.

Lavinia is furious. She tells the man that he has some nerve coming to her house, drinking her wine, and insulting her in this way. She throws him out of the house, then climbs up the stairs to her bedroom. Barbara tries to smooth things over at the party before following Lavinia upstairs.

In Dorina's bedroom, they find boxes that have been moved from the old house, still unpacked. Curious, Adora opens one of them, and finds the baby bag that Emilio had handed to her 17 years ago. He recognizes the bag immediately, and slowly pulls out its contents one by one, lovingly looking at each item until he finds a baby sock. He is moved to tears as he holds the sock and kisses it.

Lavinia enters her bedroom, followed closely behind by Barbara. Her mother is furious. The guest Lavinia had insulted is one of her most influential sponsors. Barbara says -- You don't insult people like that! He'll never get you for any of his products again! And he can blacklist you from other advertisers, that's how big he is! And if you must insult him, you shouldn't do it in front of all these people! People will keep talking about this! You have to go and apologize to him!

Lavinia merely turns her back on Barbara. Barbara tells her she's become too hard-headed, that she doesn't listen anymore. Barbara warns her that if Lavinia becomes a has-been, she will only have herself to blame.

Barbara leaves the room, still angry. Lavinia is just as furious, and she throws something at the door. Barbara hears the sound of glass breaking clearly from the other side of the door.

Episode 10.2

Emilio tries to follow Adora into the studio, but he's stopped by the guard. He tries to get a visitor pass but is blocked by the receptionist. He overhears one of the people talk about an audience pass and runs out.

Backstage in the dressing room, Adora tells Dorina she plans to introduce her friend who's applying to be a driver. Dorina convinces her to stay until she finishes her performance so they can go home together afterwards.

Emilio falls in line at the audience entrance and makes his way into the studio.

At Larry's office, Barbara reviews the line-up of Lavinia's upcoming appearances and rejects one because the producers don't pay enough. Lavinia objects but Barbara overrules her. Lavinia tries to arrange for some time off in September, but Barbara says she can't take a break because it affects their income. Barbara wants to know when Lavinia can start acting in soaps. Libby says Lavinia will need to be in workshops everyday to prepare for that. Barbara says no problem. Lavinia rolls her eyes at this.

The guard tells Emilio that the pass he holds only allows him into a certain part of the studio. Just then, Oman walks by and Emilio recognizes him. Luckily for Emilio, Oman heads into the area that Emilio is allowed to go to. He decides to follow, but eventually loses his way. He's standing in the hallway, trying to figure out where to go when a staffer comes along and calls Dorina to appear on stage. Dorina appears at a doorway and Emilio is star struck. He decides to follow her instead.

In the dressing room, Adora tells Oman that she's hungry, and Oman volunteers to buy some food from the cafeteria. Onstage, Dorina is performing and Emilio listens in for a moment from the back of the audience. He takes a vacant seat on the last row.

Just then, Adora walks into the back of the studio to bring a sandwich to Dorina. Unknown to her, she is standing right next to Emilio! They notice each other at the same time, and Adora is unable to escape. He grabs her and demands to know where his daughter is, just as Dorina's song comes to an end. Adora tries to trick him into leaving the studio with her before Dorina arrives, but Emilio is not convinced. Dorina finally arrives and calls Adora 'mother'. Emilio is shocked to realize that the Dorina Pineda he has been admiring all this time is Adora's daughter... and therefore his own daughter, Emilia Rose.

Just then, fans rush up and distract Dorina by asking for autographs. Adora pleads with Emilio, saying she loves Dorina. After the fans leave, Dorina asks Emilio if he's a friend of Adora. Unable to think of anything else to say, he says yes. Dorina then asks if he's the friend who's applying to be their driver? Emilio seizes the excuse and says yes. Adora is speechless.

Lavinia enters Larry's office unannounced. She tells him she should have the last say on all her projects, not her mother. Larry tells her he'll talk to Barbara about it. Lavinia says she's sick of her mother controlling everything. She's denying projects that are good and challenging only because of money. Lavinia says she can fire Barbara, after all they have no contract. Larry asks her if she can do that to her own mother? Lavinia doesn't answer the question. Instead, she says she will go on vacation and disappear if she doesn't get her way. Larry stops her and says she just needs to tell Barbara, because he doesn't want any trouble.

Outside, Barbara sees Lavinia and asks where she's been. Lavinia says she's been talking to Larry about her future projects. Barbara asks why she wasn't included in the discussion. Lavinia asks why she should bother being included, when the only thing she's interested in is her cut of the talent fee. Barbara is shocked and unable to reply since they are still in a public place. Lavinia walks away, smirking to herself.

Adora, Dorina, and Emilio return to the dressing room, where Oman is still waiting. He is surprised to see Emilio. Dorina introduces Emilio as someone applying to be their driver. Oman is confused. He says Emilio told him that he's Adora's brother. Emilio explains this away by saying he and Adora are such old friends that he thinks of her as his sister. At this news, Dorina tells Adora that they shouldn't entertain any other applicants, and should just accept Mang Emilio as their driver, especially since they're old friends. Left with no choice, Adora hesitantly says yes. Dorina gives Emilio their new address and he agrees to report for work the next day. Adora is unable to stop this turn of events.

Barbara tells Lavinia she'll explain all of the new contracts that have been lined up for Lavinia when they get home. Lavinia tells her not to bother, because Larry will take care of it.

Adora, Dorina, and Oman arrive at the D'Adorables Restaurant. Oman asks Adora why they're hiring Emilio as a driver when they thought he was a stalker. Adora makes up and excuse about how she thought he was a different person.

Emilio returns to his home still in a daze. Bombi is excited to learn that Emilio has found his daughter, but he is just as shocked to learn that Emilio's missing daughter is Dorina Pineda!

Minda asks Adora why she allowed Emilio to become their driver, especially since he now knows where they live. Adora says she had no choice. If he were to claim Dorina, she wouldn't be able to stop him. Adora starts crying. Minda reminds her that she would fight to the death for Dorina. Adora says she was afraid, because she would lose in the courts. She says she had no choice. At least this way, Dorina is still with her. And at least Emilio did not announce to the whole world that he's Dorina's father. Minda says that confuses her -- after searching for her for so long, why didn't Emilio claim his own daughter?

Emilio tells Bombi he couldn't tell Dorina the truth. What would people say if they learned that Dorina Pineda's father is an ex-con and a drug pusher? It would destroy her future, everything she's worked so hard for. He says he'll leave Dorina with Adora. At least as their driver, he'll still see her every day. That's good enough for him.

That night, Adora enters Dorina's bedroom to find Dorina already asleep in bed. Bencho comes in and tells Adora she's sad to be sleeping alone in her own bedroom. Dorina wakes up and invites them all to climb into bed with her. The family is reunited and falls asleep together.

The next morning, Dorina goes out to pick up the morning paper when Emilio appears for work. She invites him inside, remarking that he's there bright and early at 6am. He tells her that he's so excited to start work that he even had trouble sleeping the night before.

Dorina invites Emilio to join them at the breakfast table. He sits down as Dorina gets him a plate. Adora is stone-faced and silent. Bencho asks Emilio why he's smiling. He says this is the first time he'll be sharing a meal with Ma'am Dorina, which is something he's been wanting to do for quite some time. Adora tells him she's written down the addresses of all of places Dorina usually goes to, including Zoni's office, the place where the band rehearses, and the address of her voice teacher. Emilio promises to memorize them all so Dorina is never late for her appointments.

Just then, Dorina returns to the table.

Episode 10.1

Oman is alone back at the dorm. He broods and tries to teach himself the guitar as memories of his moments with Dorina flash in his mind. He wanders around the now-empty Pineda home. Unable to stop himself, he starts crying.

Dorina claims the child's room in Rosamia's home as her own bedroom. She says she likes the decor as it is -- the way Rosamia left it.

Rita sneaks off to the second floor balcony so she can see Jack as they talk on their mobile phones. She says the maids have been ordered to watch her, so she can't talk long. He notices the bandage on her hand and asks if Barbara hurt her. Rita says she doesn't want to talk about it, and changes the subject by saying she's so happy to see him.

Jack's voice is heavy with emotion as he tells her he'll come every night to see her. Tearfully, she tells him not to come because they can't see each other anymore. He says he won't let that happen. She pleads with him to not come back, that if he cares for her at all he won't come back. He asks her if that's really what she wants, and she turns away from him before she finally says yes.

Jack is hurt. With tears streaming down his face, he finally agrees. She bids him goodbye and returns to her bedroom, leaving him down on the street staring at the balcony, his face wet with tears.

Oman is walking down the street and finds himself in front of a guitar shop. The proprietor tells him that with a chordbook, he can teach himself how to play. Oman buys one.

Back home, Oman is struggling with the guitar when Dorina walks in. He's surprised to see her. Dorina explains that she's on her way to see Rosamia but decided to stop by to see him first. When she asks if he's okay, he tells her he's fine and dismisses her concern. He also asks her to leave so he can go back to practicing. Happy to see him back to his old self, Dorina tells him to work hard on learning the guitar so he can join the band. Oman is happy to hear this.

At Rosamia's home, Dorina tells Rosamia that she's moved into her former home. Rosamia is happy at this news, because she's sure they'll take good care of the house. She shares how she designed and saved for that house because it's her dream house.

Dorina asks her if she would consider living there again with the Pineda family. At first, Rosamia seems open to the idea, but her expression suddenly changes. She angrily asks Dorina why she would want Rosamia to move back there? Is it so she can be reminded of what she has lost? To feel useless and regret all the opportunities that she has squandered? Angrily, she tells Dorina she doesn't need her help, then walks out of the living room.

Some time later, Rosamia finally emerges from her bedroom to find Dorina still waiting. Dorina apologizes and says she never meant to insult Rosamia. She thought that Rosamia would be happy to move back to her old home. Rosamia quietly says she has turned her back on everything in her past, including that house. She asks Dorina to not mention it again. Dorina agrees. Smiling, Rosamia tells Dorina it's time to start her next voice lesson.

Lavinia enters the dining room to confront Barbara, waving a bank statement in the air. She demands to know why Barbara has more money in her account than she does. When Barbara asks why she opened Barbara's bank statement, Lavinia explains that it comes in the same envelope, so she thought it was her own statement.

When Lavinia once again asks why Barbara has more money, Barbara says it's only right since she's Lavinia's discoverer, manager, and her mother as well. She is fulfilling many roles, so it's only right that she has more money. Challengingly, she asks Lavinia if there's a problem, and Lavinia says no, then walks out of the room.

Dorina asks Adora if she's seen her black sandals since she needs them for her appearance later. Adora says it's still in one of the boxes back at their old house. She offers to pick the shoes up later and bring them to ABS for Dorina. Adora also mentions that it's too bad none of them know how to drive, because otherwise they could use the van that Nico provided.

Oscar is at the Arguelles home, telling Barbara and Lavinia that Dorina is too wholesome because the only intrigues that he can make up with are too small to make a dent on Dorina's image. Barbara says it's only a matter of time before he can find something useful, and that they can wait. When Barbara asks Lavinia for her opinion, it becomes obvious that Lavinia is still unhappy, because she rudely walks out.

Bombi and Emilio are once again discussing Emilio's search. Emilio says he wants to go back to the neighborhood where Adora Pineda lives, because he hopes that one of her neighbors can tell him where she has moved to.

Barbara is trying to discuss strategy with Lavinia, but the singer is still not in the mood. Barbara confronts her about her attitude and says if Lavinia has a problem, she should say it. Lavinia says she wants a new car, a BMW. Barbara says she should go ahead and buy one. Lavinia says she doesn't have enough money in her account, then pointedly says maybe they should use the money in Barbara's account instead.

Angrily, Barbara tells her there's no money to spend and that they already have a car. Lavinia says she wants a new car. She wants her own car. She wants to enjoy the fruits of her labor, the way Barbara is. Barbara angrily asks if she's insinuating something, and Lavinia sarcastically asks if she's getting the hint.

Now truly angry, Barbara asks Lavinia how she can dare to talk back in this way. Lavinia reminds Barbara that she asked Lavinia to say what her problem is. And here it is: She doesn't understand why she works so hard and yet can't afford to buy what she wants. She doesn't understand why Barbara gets the lion's share of the money. She also doesn't understand why she has no say in this household. Since she's the breadwinner, it's only right she gets her way.

Barbara asks her if she's done, then says she's the mother of the household so it's only right that she has the final say. She has fulfilled Lavinia's dream to be a famous singer, that's what's important, so Lavinia has no right to complain.

Lavinia tells Barbara that the only thing she cares about is money, and accuses Barbara of cheating her. Barbara slaps her and says she's done and continues to do a lot for Lavinia and for the family. She says the money that she has now is nothing compared to all the dirt she has had to crawl through to get Lavinia to where she is.

Lavinia simply glares back at her and when Barbara finishes talking, the singer merely asks if Barbara has anything else to say. When Barbara says nothing, Lavinia turns her back and walks away.

Nico fusses over Dorina backstage at her next appearance, then asks her to stop calling him Sir and call him Nico instead, especially since he's not much older than her. Gary is uneasy as he stands there listening to this exchange.

After Nico leaves, Dorina smilingly remarks that Nico is such a good man. Hoping to stop Dorina from falling for Nico, Gary reminds her that it's only natural that they're good to her because she's useful to them right now. But once her usefulness ends, they won't be like that anymore. Just look at Rosamia. Dorina scoffs at this and says Larry Calma was the one who did that to Rosamia, and that Nico is different.

Jack, Jay, and Chris are rehearsing on their own, with Jay and Chris providing the vocals to "A Million Miles Away." A staffer hears them and applauds them at the end of their song. The boys are flattered, but Jack just sits quietly brooding. After the staff leaves, Chris asks Jack if he's still thinking of Rita. Jay tells him it's better to forget about her and to focus on his career instead, because his career will be a better girlfriend. Jack turns to look at him, but says nothing.

Emilio and Bombi pull up in a cab outside of Adora's home just in time to see Oman and Adora loading up a jeep with the rest of their things. This time, instead of running out of the cab and confronting Adora, Emilio decides to stay in the car and follow them, because he's convinced Adora will lead him to Emilia Rose. Bombi asks him how he can be sure that Emilia Rose is still with Adora. Emilio says it's because of the way Adora panics whenever she sees him.

In the jeep, Adora asks Oman if he knows how to drive, so they can make use of the van. Oman says he can learn. Adora tells him it's okay, she can just ask Nico to recommend a driver, prompting Oman to ask if Nico is interested in Dorina.

Adora quickly says no. Oman says the guy fusses over Dorina too much, and now has even given them free use of a house and a van. Adora says it's only because he wants to improve Dorina's image that Nico is doing all this. She says if she didn't know any better she would think Oman is just jealous because he's in love with Dorina. Oman denies this. Unknown to them, Emilio and Bombi are still trailing them in the cab.

It's mealtime again at the Arguelles home. Barbara says she will accompany Rita to school the next day because they will drop all her classes -- she will no longer be studying. Barbara says she doesn't want Rita to use school as a way to sneak out and meet Jack. Rita looks at Lavinia, hoping her sister will intercede, but Lavinia says nothing.

Barbara reminds the maids just who is paying their salary and orders them to keep a watchful eye on Rita as Rita cries silently.

Barbara and Lavinia are about to leave when Rita's cellphone suddenly rings. Rita sees that the call is from Jack and quickly rejects the call. But Barbara has heard the phone, and pointedly holds out her hand until Rita surrenders her cellphone. Barbara and Lavinia leave.

Jack looks at the phone and sees that his call has been rejected. Still depressed, he returns to his seat at the keyboards, and still says nothing. Chris and Jay can only look at him.

Adora's jeep pulls up in front of ABS-CBN, much to the surprise of Emilio and Bombi. They both jump out of the car -- Emilio to follow Adora inside, and Bombi to take care of the cab.

Adora enters ABS-CBN, completely unaware that she's being followed.

Episode 9.5

Furious, Barbara goes backstage to get Rita when the band takes a break after their first set. She drags Rita home.

The rest of the band is worried. Gary advises Jack to stay away for a while because Barbara will only become more angry if he goes to check on Rita. Jack feels guilty because he's the one who invited Rita to join even though he knew Barbara would be angry. Dorina says it's her fault -- Barbara is only upset with Rita because they think of Dorina as the enemy.

At home, Barbara hits Rita, destroys her guitar, then brutually crushes Rita's left hand with the lid of the piano.

Oman is walking home from the mallshow, muttering about Gary and Nico, and the way they fuss over Dorina. He finds Emilio ztanding there on the street. Emilio asks him if he knows Adora Pineda.

Gary and Dorina are walking in the mall after their mallshow, and Gary asks if it's safe for her to be walking like this, since she's sure to be mobbed. Dorina says she doubts she has that many fans... but soon enough there are a lot of people crowding around asking for autographs. One of the fans asks Dorina and Gary if they're now a couple, and they are both quick to deny it.

Oman asks Emilio why he's looking for Adora, and Emilio tells him he's Adora's brother, saying he's been out of the country for years. Oman feels uneasy and tells Emilio that Adora moved away long ago. Just then, Minda comes out of the house and before she can say anything, Oman tells Minda he just told Emilio that Adora moved away and that now Minda lives at the house. Emilio is disappointed, but he takes their word at face value, and leaves.

Dorina and Gary find themselves outside Lavinia's autograph signing. An excited fan brings Dorina into the store, excitedly asking the two singers to pose for a photo together. Smiling all the while, Lavinia tells Dorina that she's got some nerve crashing in on her autograph signing. Dorina tries to explain, but Lavinia doesn't believe her. She tells Dorina it's okay because she'll find some way to crash one of Dorina's events in the future.

Oman and Minda tell Adora about the stranger looking for her. Oman tells Adora he remembered that she mentioned a stalker the other day, which is why he lied to the stranger. Adora asks him not to tell Dorina because she'll just worry.

Emilio returns home dejected. He tells Bombi he doesn't know what to do anymore.

Dorina returns home to find everyone in a packing frenzy. Adora tells her she's excited to move into Rosamia's former home, and since Nico says it's okay to go earlier than expected, they're all packing up for the move.

Rita is crying alone in her bedroom, her injured hand now bandaged. When Barbara enters, Rita is terrified and scrambles to the far side of the bed to get away from Barbara. Barbara orders Rita to stay in her bedroom until Barbara tells her otherwise. She's not even allowed to go to school. Barbara also warns her not to disobey, otherwise she will chain Rita up to keep her in the room.

Lavinia enters as Barbara leaves. Rita tries to explain that she meant no harm or insult to her sister -- that she just wants to play the guitar, but Lavinia is not interested in listening. She tells Rita she's a traitor and worthless as a sister, then leaves Rita crying alone in the room.

Dorina finally has a chance to talk to Oman. She asks him why he disappeared from the mallshow yesterday. He makes up an excuse about not feeling well. They're about to load a jeepney that Oman has arranged for their move, when Gary arrives with a truck to help as well. Oman smiles to hide his resentment.

Everyone admires the beautiful new home. Adora is thrilled and Nico gives them a tour of the house. Oman has an embarrassing moment when he flips a few switches and says the lights must be broken... only to have Gary tell him the switch controls the central air-conditioning.

Later, everyone gathers at the dinner table for a snack. Dorina tells Adora that Rosamia is sure to be thrilled once she learns that her home is now being used by someone she knows. Nico tells them he'll have someone change the locks tomorrow, just to be on the safe side. Dorina says she's sure they'll be okay since Oman is staying with them. Oman then reveals that he can't leave the dorm because no one will take care of it. He tries to leave, but Dorina runs after him and asks him what's wrong.

Oman tells her that he's having trouble adjusting to Dorina's fame and success. He says she's now way too famous for him to reach. She tells him that she's the same Dorina he grew up with, but Oman tells her he now feels so small when he's next to her, and that it's like he has no place anymore in her new life. Dorina sadly watches him walk away.

Just then, Gary comes out and asks Dorina if Oman has left. When she says yes, Gary tells her that Oman is probably insecure because he's obviously in love with Dorina. Dorina tells him that's not true. Gary tells her he can tell from the way Oman behaves that he has feelings for her, it's so obvious. Dorina becomes even more upset and Gary backs down.

Later, Dorina sadly tells Adora that so much has changed since she entered showbiz, that even her friendship with Oman has now been affected. Adora tells her there's no way to stop change in life, but she thinks that her friendship with Oman will return back to normal once he's had some time to adjust.

Nico says his goodbyes and gives them one final set of keys -- to a locked room on the second floor. Adora and Dorina go to check it out, and find themselves in what appears to be a child's bedroom. Dorina spots a gift card lying on the floor which reads "Happy birthday, Emilia Rose."

Dorina tells Adora that Emilia Rose is Rosamia's daughter. As Adora looks around the room, Dorina stands motionless, and closes her eyes for a moment. When Adora notices, she asks Dorina what's wrong. Dorina says she felt warmth, the way she does when Adora hugs her. Smiling, she says she feels safe in this room.

Episode 9.4

Emilio begins his search for the three Adoras who were former employees of the Madame Rosa Flower Shop. Because the name of their street has changed over the years, Emilio fails to find Adora Pineda, even though at one point he is literally standing just outside her gate.

During their workout, Zossimo reminds Nico that he still owns Rosamia's former home, and that it's now empty. This gives Nico an idea.

Jack is relieved to learn that Rita got home safely and that Barbara still has no clue. He tells her that the band has a mallshow the next day and that it will not be televised.

Rosamia and Dorina continue to bond, with Rosamia even taking the time to prepare a meal for herself and Dorina before one of Dorina's lessons.

Nico shows Rosamia's former home to Dorina, and tells her that it's for her family. It's a small token in exchange for everything that Dorina is bringing in for Zoni Records. He says he'll also assign a van to her. And will provide them with food, clothing, and gas allowances. Dorina is overwhelmed and asks what she's done to deserve all this. He says what he's doing is nothing compared to what she's giving him, giving Zoni Records.

Larry has learned that Dorina has a mallshow the next day, so he has scheduled an autograph signing for Lavinia which will start before Dorina's mallshow. His plan is to delay the autograph signing so that people won't be able to attend Dorina's mallshow.

Dorina shares the news about their new home to Adora. She also remarks that Nico is such a wonderful man, that he possesses all the qualities of the man that Dorina hopes to one day marry. Adora worries and tells her she's way too young to think about getting married. Dorina clarifies that she's not saying she wants to marry Nico himself, just that he's the type of guy that she would want to marry.

Oman is concerned when he hears about Nico's generous offer to use the house. Dorina tells him not to worry, and even invites him to stay with them at the house. Adora agrees that it's a good idea so that there's at least one guy with them. Oman says he'll think about it.

Rita is on her way out of the house when Barbara stops her and asks where she's going. Rita says she's just going out with her friends. Barbara tells her it might be better if she just goes with them to Lavinia's autograph signing. Lavinia intercedes and tells Barbara to let Rita go with her friends, after all Rita has nothing to do at the autograph signing and she'll probably just sit there and sulk. Barbara remarks that Rita has been going out a lot -- she asks Rita to bring her friend to their home so she can meet him/her. Rita comes up with the excuse that her friend's parents are strict, which is why it's usually Rita who goes to her friend. Barbara warns Rita that she better not be doing anything wrong, and reminds her daughter just what she's like when she's angry. Rita assures her that there's nothing going on, and escapes.

Nico is driving Oman and the Pineda family to show his next surprise. He tells them it won't take long and that the driver will bring them to the mallshow afterwards. He pulls over to the side of the street and points out Dorina's new Jollibee billboard. They're all excited.

Emilio returns home to tell Bombi that he's figured out why they can't find Adora Pineda's home -- it's because the name of the street has changed! He now knows the exact correct address. He tells Bombi he will change and go see Adora Pineda right away.

Backstage at the mallshow, Oman broods as he watches Gary and Dorina chatting. He doesn't feel any better when Nico later comes in and fusses over Dorina. He finally can't stand it anymore and leaves the room. Someone comes in and tells them that the show is starting soon, and that they've heard rumors that Lavinia is also at the mall for her own personal appearance.

The mallshow starts, and despite Larry's attempts to draw people to Lavinia's autograph signing, there's a large crowd gathered to watch Dorina and The Halo. When people in line for Lavinia try to leave the signing, Larry stops them by saying they'll be giving away free CDs. When that doesn't work, he says they'll be raffling off tickets to Boracay. Barbara decides to check out Dorina's show to see just how many people are there.

When she reaches the mallshow, she overhears a fan asking his friend who the new female band member is. Curious, she pushes through the crowd until she sees Rita performing onstage.

Rosamia tells Dorina that only Lauro Calma knew that she had a husband and daughter and that it was Lauro who convinced her that she should keep it a secret. She said she went along with it since her daughter was lost anyway. She said her husband lost their daughter and that's why she can't forgive him. Rosamia also says that Emilia Rose would be around Dorina's age.

Dorina says if it makes Rosamia feel better, she can consider her a daughter. Rosamia says anyone would want someone like Dorina to have as a daughter. Dorina says if that's the case, Rosamia should allow Dorina to take care of her, and that she should listen when Dorina says she should stop drinking.

Emilio is waiting with his cab near the church. His friend Bombi asks for the sketch of "Doris" to help him search.

Adora is still in the kitchen of her restaurant, hiding from her customers just in case Emilio returns. When Minda tells her that Emilio actually has the right to claim Dorina, Adora says she will not give up Dorina to an ex-con like Emilio, even if they were to fight to the death.

Dorina is about to leave Rosamia's home, when she notices the crib in the next room. Rosamia explains that the crib contains all the gifts that she has prepared for her daughter, just in case they were to meet again. There's a gift there for every birthday and Christmas that has passed in the last 17 years. Dorina tells her not to give up hope because she believes Rosamia and her daughter will be reunited eventually.

Larry takes Lavinia to a restaurant and says this is just a little celebration because he's got a lot of commercials lined up for her, and she's being eyed to sing the theme song of the latest star cinema movie. Lavinia is happy. Larry then presents Lavinia with a large bouquet of flowers. When Lavinia asks him what the flowers for, he says he just wants to apologize for pressuring her the past few days... he's just concerned about her career. Lavinia is gracious and says it's her fault anyway. Larry says -- you know I would do anything for you. She kisses him lightly on the cheek and thanks him.

Nico tells Dorina he's fast-tracking her album's release and that he's working on another endorsement deal. He says Lavinia's wine-throwing actually helped Dorina. He also warns her that Lavinia's camp will be sure to make another move later, they just don't know when or where or how. He advises her to never change and always stay true to herself, to not let what people say or do affect her or bother her. Let intrigues just go in one ear and out the other. He tells her she's becoming more famous, that her star is shining more brightly. Very soon she'll surpass Lavinia. Dorina tells Nico she owes it all to him, because he's the one who packaged her, trained her, molded her, and believed in her.

Chris and Jay tell Gary that they're wasting so much time waiting for the rest of the band to arrive for rehearsals. Jack walks in with Rita and announces Rita will be joining as an additional guitarist on the band. Jay and Chris have no problem with her joining since she's not a singer.

Just then, Dorina walks in and Jack says Rita has joined them. Rita tells Dorina it will be okay with her if Dorina doesn't accept her in the band, especially after what Lavinia did to her. Dorina says there's no reason why she wouldn't want Rita in the band. She says the only thing Lavinia and Rita have in common is their last name.

But Dorina worries about Barbara or Lavinia finding out about this. Rita says she simply told her family that she's out with friends. Smiling, she says it's true anyway because people in the band are her friends. Everyone is in agreement, and Rita makes one final request -- that she not perform with them whenever there's TV coverage of the event, because she doesn't want to risk being found out. Jack says it's okay. Dorina welcomes her to the band and they hug.

At home, Adora tries to call Dorina but she's not answering her mobile phone. Bencho asks if they still intend to go to church because Dorina may be tied up in rehearsals for a whilelonger. Oman mumbles -- Rehearsals... more like a date with Gary! Adora asks him if he's in love with Dorina because he's sure acting like he's jealous. Oman denies it, but Adora doesn't believe him.

Dorina finally gets home, escorted by Gary. Oman explains that they were waiting for her to go to Baclaran together but that Adora finally went to bed. After Dorina goes into her house, Oman asks Gary if he's courting Dorina. Gary says yes, then says that Dorina has told him she considers Oman an older brother. Gary then says to Oman -- don't worry, kuya, my intentions are pure -- further infuriating Oman.

Everyone has gathered in the Pineda living room to watch the premiere of Dorina's new Jollibee commercial. Dorina and her family are thrilled. At the Arguelles home, Lavinia is infuriated when she sees Dorina's commercial. She starts destroying things in her bedroom. Barbara stops her and demands to know what she's so upset about. Episode 9.1

Dorina continues to perform with the band, much to the appreciation of her growing number of fans.

Larry tells Lavinia that their press conference improved her image, but that she's not completely out of it yet. When he suggests that she lie low and take a short break, Lavinia disagrees and tells him to accept every offer, tv show, concert, and personal appearance that is offered because she doesn't want anyone to think she's hiding. She even says she'll do charity work through a foundation in her name. She's convinced that if she does this, the public will love her again and forget about Dorina.

Dorina finishes shooting her Jollibee commercial under the watchful and protective eye of Nico and Zossimo.

Jay complains when Dorina misses band rehearsals because of her Jollibee shoot. He also complains about her solo appearance at the advertisers' party. Jack says it's only expected that Dorina is invited to the party because she's the only one with a commercial. Jay says maybe it's time they became an all-male band since he and Chris can also sing. Gary finally ends all discussion by reminding them that without Dorina, they would have no contract with Zoni. He says there's no need to discuss this further because Dorina is the heart of the band.

Emilio's taxi duties leads him to the vicinity of Adora's restaurant. Adora is horrified when she sees him walk in for a bite to eat. She ducks behind the counter to avoid being seen. In a panic, she reveals to Minda that the man who just walked in is Emilio. She starts to wonder whether it's her fate that Emilio will eventually find her because their paths keep crossing.

Later that night, a worried Adora is still awake in bed. She gives into the urge to sit up and lovingly watch Dorina sleeping. Dorina wakes briefly when Adora kisses her on the forehead, but at Adora's urging, she goes back to sleep, oblivious to Adora's tears.

Zossimo escorts Dorina to her first voice lesson with Rosamia. Dorina cannot help but gently nag Rosamia about her constant drinking. Dorina even goes to the extent of finding Rosamia's many liquor bottles and emptying their contents into the kitchen sink. At another time, she prepares a meal for Rosamia. Their lessons progress well, and soon Rosamia is sitting in the studio with Nico and Zossimo, listening with approval and appreciation as Dorina records her song.

Rosamia congratulates Dorina at the end of her recording, and Dorina gives her mentor all the credit. Dorina says she'll miss Rosamia now that her lessons have ended. Rosamia half-jokingly says she won't be missing Dorina since she can now start drinking again. The two women laugh and affectionately hug each other.

It is dinner time at the Pineda home, and Oman remarks that Dorina is not performing as often as she used to with her band. Adora says Dorina has been busy recording her album since it's only half-finished. Oman says it's just as well, so she spends less time with Gary. As Dorina stares speculatively at Oman, Bencho asks Oman why he always seems to be mad at Gary when he's a nice guy.

Adora asks Dorina why she's suddenly quiet. Dorina says she feels sorry for Rosamia since her income will be less now that her voice lessons are over... and that she'll also miss Rosamia. Adora says half-jokingly that she's starting to feel jealous. Dorina assures her that there's no contest, especially since Rosamia is just her vocal coach, while Adora is her mother! Adora laughs and kindly suggests that Dorina continue her voice lessons, much to Dorina's excitement.

Bombi is paroled and arrives at Tiyang Letty's home. He asks how Emilio's search has progressed. Emilio says he saw Doris once but she was able to slip away. Bombi reminds Emilio that Adora used to frequent Baclaran. He suggests that Emilio hang around that area for a while, just in case Doris still frequents that place.

Alone at home, Rosamia is unpacking her latest purchases, which includes a bottle of wine. When she removes the bottle from its bag, she hesitates for a moment, then proceeds to the kitchen to empty the wine into the sink. Smiling to herself, she returns to the dining room and continues to unpack the rest of her groceries.

Rosamia is surprised to open her door to find Dorina standing outside. Dorina says Zossimo and Nico felt she should continue her lessons, and Rosamia welcomes her in. In the living room, Dorina becomes concerned when she sees three wine bottles in a bag on the table, but Rosamia assures her that she just threw away the contents.

As they sit down, Rosamia tells Dorina that thanks to her constant nagging, she has actually stopped drinking now. Dorina is pleased, and as she apologizes for her nagging, she says she takes after her mother -- they are both makulit, especially in matters of health.

Rosamia says that Dorina is lucky to have a mother like that. She looks away and becomes lost in thought. Almost mumbling to herself, Rosamia says she hopes Emilia Rose is just as lucky. Curious, Dorina asks who Emilia Rose is, and learns that Emilia Rose is Rosamia's daughter. She asks where Emilia Rose is, and Rosamia sadly replies that she's now gone.
